the easiest would've been for taking of her his shirt off for some booba (how adult and mature!) and fade to black similar to the japanese version, it's the same retarded shit as showing excessive gore because brainlets apparently can't understand clear implications.
True, I'd forgotten the censored version existed. But I suspect the full story of the game's development would make for one hell of a documentary since as I recall, it was outright
admitted at one point the player could have killed Abby at the end of the game (and while not said, obviously this was removed because
why the fuck would you not kill Abby?), and they were clearly trying to make this game more of an interactive movie as opposed to an actual game.
After all, every single thing discussed about this game is its story and cutscenes. I can't recall the last time anybody actually discussed the
gameplay. There's never anything like, say, the Ashtray Maze from
Control, the time travel level from
Titanfall 2, or anything that actually takes advantage of the medium of video games to do something fucking amazing. Instead TLOU2 is just TLOU1 with more forced instances of making you feel bad because of people reacting to you killing others...and there isn't even a stealth option. Neil wasn't kidding when he said he didn't want people to have
fun while playing a VIDEO GAME.
And yet...he failed. He's being outclassed by Toby fucking Fox, the Undertale guy, because all of THOSE games are developed entirely by him and from what I've read have interesting commentary on the video game experience with regards to how players actually
play. I don't know myself as I've never played those games (the music is fucking amazing though) but there are more people talking about the 'Snowgrave Route' in Deltarune Chapter 2 than
anybody ever discussed the themes of TLOU2 and not being obvious shills for a relatively anti-gamer platform, or simply pretending the game is deep to look more intelligent than they really are.
At the same time the main villain of Chapter 2 pops in and out randomly just to do random things, unironically says "LMAO" as a sentence, and is essentially a 4chan memelord.
One would expect people who defended TLOU2 would've moved on long ago, but nope, they're still talking about it, despite hardly anyone caring nowadays. What happened? isn't there any newer cinematic walking sim with woke overtones for these people to suck off?
They get paid for words and it's easy to just write the same bullshit over and over when the game isn't truly that deep to begin with but was hailed as some kind of important title.
They're currently waiting for the Factions game (which may or may not be vaporware at this point given how ND keeps stringing them along with no real meaningful updates) so they can run around killing people as Abby in a multiplayer setting.
Wonder what kind of skins they'd have for her, because you know cosmetic microtransactions would be inevitable.
I'm still waiting for the Abby model to be extracted. I recall that the guy at Irrational Games pleaded people to stop making porn of Elizabeth because he thought of her as a daughter (and you can guess how THAT went). If Abby becomes available as a 3D model for SFM or Blender?
Oh
lordy porn would be a
blessing as opposed to what I can see people doing with her.
Look how they hold on to GamerGate. These are people who define themselves by their opposition. They think of themselves as veterans in the Culture Wars, and TLOU2 as a battle - and like all of these Very Important Internet Fights, while they can die down, they're never, ever truly over. So long as they see one person deriding the game, the fight isn't done.
Plus, y'know. Dumb consoomers thought it was deep and shit because revenge bad. I feel like there's demographic of people who had their mind blown by playing a game that was making them feel bad for playing it, kind of like 'Funny Games' but for gaming. To a few people, that will have been a profound experience, strange as that seems.
The weird thing about most game journalists these days is they actually don't like in-depth games. Gone are the days of people like those at Nintendo Power who actually LOVED video games and could analyze them on an appropriate level (I.E. the reason why everybody at NP loved Resident Evil 4 that it got a full page review of 10/10 when most games got a fraction of the page of a blurb). Now they just shit out crap online and TLOU2 is easy because of its faux-deep narrative and of course all the wokeness the game not-so-subtly promotes with Abby being not shaped like a normal woman and that little shit they parade around as Trans when really it's just a Mulan situation.
