I'll counter that and say that in my area, most volunteers are pagan or self claimed Satanists. They even volunteer for the Christian organizations and make up a solid chunk of their volunteer workforce.I think you're ignoring the relative lack of a service tradition in most pagan organizations. For example, Blue Star, one of the largest pagan groups, doesn't have such a tradition worth a damn. They're mostly about moving up in their internal hierarchy. In fact, I think I only ran into one pagan organization that had a service tradition, something with druid in the name. All of the others appear to be focused on internal development.
I have been a hospice volunteer for many years. In all of that time, I have not encountered a single pagan hospice volunteer. Plenty of Christians, plenty of Jews, some Muslims. No pagans. None.
So stan for the pagans all you like. I'm calling bullshit.
Most people just never know because they don't talk about it
