Should the title be re-worded to expand the scope of the thread?

Food banks across the country are beginning to report that they will have to turn people away this winter.
I for one am eagerly anticipating the interviews with women with 40+ BMI, stressing about how much they need to be given free food. Bonus points if they are surrounded by their rotund family members while making their statement.

But hey, we've got $550 billion dollars to hand out to solar companies, which won't at all turn out like Obama throwing a bunch of money at Solyndra to enrich their executives, who declared bankruptcy before they'd managed to produce any solar panels.
Solyndra was building panels, just the costs to make silicon based panels dropped so much between 2009-2011 that they could no longer compete.

You really don't need a slow cooker. Believe it or not basically all meats will break down... in a pot... on a stove like your grandmother used to do. Get a dutch oven before you get any of that electronic crap.
You’re retarded.
Yes, you can do it in a pot.
No, you don’t want to leave a hot stovetop unattended all day.
Buying a $20 slow cooker won’t bankrupt anyone.

Yes, the ones made in China and imported across the Pacific on filthy tar-burning ships that produce a metric fuckton of toxic waste in their manufacture.

Someone lives in the stone age. Yes, you do need a slow cooker. Get an air fryer, too. Makes great tendies.

If you ever wondered how all those shiny tow trucks are paid for, it not the big wrecks its constant the business from this stuff. Can you get your company to do a tractor swap?
No, I work for a very small company, and the truck is a lease.

The leasing company is going to send roadside out here, like they can do anything. Oh well, at least I'm getting paid. I tried to make it home before calling the leasing company because fuck em, but I chickened out when it started derating on me. I'd rather be stuck at a truck stop than stuck on the side of the road, after all.

If anyone is wondering why I'm pissing and moaning about this in this thread, it's because DEF modules breaking are often a dead truck what with the chip shortage. Each truck off the road is roughly 200,000 lbs of cargo not moving per week.

Just for fun, I calculated the caloric value of what's in my trailer at the moment-- 30,104,000 food calories. Or about 15,000 2000 calorie daily rations. Enough to feed 41 people for a full year. That's what I haul on a normal DAY, and it's all held up by one retard chip for a stupid "green" initiative / moneygrubbing scheme. You only need a DEF chip to drive because Uncle Sam says you do.

DEF, by the way, is just urea in water. I can buy a 50 lb bag of urea for like 11 bucks at tractor supply, and yet DEF costs 15 bucks for a little bottle that's obviously mostly water.

It's 100 a scam.

PACCAR has already got permission from the EPA to disable def level sensor when they fail. DEF gauge reads empty all the time, but the SCR is still working so they want you to fill up every time you get fuel. I'm sure more stuff will get disabled before this is over. I wish we could all just go back to Tier III. All the benefits of common rail injection and none of the bullshit.

Well, it is food grade urea and de-ionized water. There was a guy on AgTalk that was sure he was going to make a killing using DEF instead of 32% for fertilizer until somebody pointed out its 33% urea and not 33% N.

Urea is 46 percent N. That, I do know off the top of my head. I don't know shit about trucks; I just drive them.

My DEF level isn't reading empty, so I don't think it's that autistic component.

You’re exceptional.

A braised rump roast takes 3 hours in a dutch oven. It takes 8 hours in a slow cooker and has way worse texture. That's not better.

The whole DEF thing is stupid. I ripped all the DEF/SCR crap out of my car and it ended up being like a hundred pounds worth of plastic and metal garbage and now I get +5mpg and significantly more power.

I got one maybe 2 bottles when I first got my tiny diesel pickup. Then I realized about 10% of the card lock stations I fuel at have DEF pumps. Sure as fuck easier. I had to get a cardlock acount because retarded Oregon you can't pump your own gas, but you can pump diesel, but most 'normal' stations don't know that or don't care.
