If you ever wondered how all those shiny tow trucks are paid for, it not the big wrecks its constant the business from this stuff. Can you get your company to do a tractor swap?
No, I work for a very small company, and the truck is a lease.
The leasing company is going to send roadside out here, like they can do anything. Oh well, at least I'm getting paid. I tried to make it home before calling the leasing company because fuck em, but I chickened out when it started derating on me. I'd rather be stuck at a truck stop than stuck on the side of the road, after all.
If anyone is wondering why I'm pissing and moaning about this in this thread, it's because DEF modules breaking are often a dead truck what with the chip shortage. Each truck off the road is roughly 200,000 lbs of cargo not moving per week.
Just for fun, I calculated the caloric value of what's in my trailer at the moment-- 30,104,000 food calories. Or about 15,000 2000 calorie daily rations. Enough to feed 41 people for a full year. That's what I haul on a normal DAY, and it's all held up by one retard chip for a stupid "green" initiative / moneygrubbing scheme. You only need a DEF chip to drive because Uncle Sam says you do.
DEF, by the way, is just urea in water. I can buy a 50 lb bag of urea for like 11 bucks at tractor supply, and yet DEF costs 15 bucks for a little bottle that's obviously mostly water.
It's 100 a scam.
