Years of knowing anime exists and should inspire self motivation and constructive drive should had seen the States foster its own massive talent pool, but I guess that only exists in a better world. I guess 70 some plus years of creative repression against sequential art really does fuck with you.

I'm going to drop some vague words of prophecy: If someone decides to come along and make Grade A USA real anime shit of their own truly inspired by the anime booms of the past, and will push back when it comes to shove, it's going to be a bad fucking day for the US animation mainstream industry, like a bulldozer against a sandcastle. Given the ridiculous, preachy politics of this show and the absolute no-quality animation, I think it's fair to dub this show High Grauniad Spice.

Probably cartoons where the bad guys win because the heroes don't have second amendment rights (which they point out to the viewer over and over with lines like "if the government gave us the right to bear arms we wouldn't be in this situation!"), the bad guys are a mixture of big government politicians, environmentalists, abortion doctors, atheist activists, pink-haired feminists, college professors, etc., there's random diatribes about how great the free market is, they come across a bunch of poor people and tell them to get off welfare, and all references to religion in the show are a really clunky version of how CS Lewis does Christianity in his books.

Closest thing to it is probably some no-budget Christian cartoons sold directly to churches. That said, I think there probably are cartoons you could call "right-wing" like maybe some of the US WWII cartoons about being patriotic and helping the soldiers kill Japs (I think there's a few from the 50s/early 60s warning about commies).

None of these progs think that far. It’s like in the comic book Black about a society where only black people had superpowers. If there were black superheroes in the 13th century, how could slavery and the civil rights movements even happen?

Why wouldn't slavery happen when King Mbwanzo now has superpowers when leads a slave raid to find new bucks to sell to white people and Arabs? And obviously black people would still need the civil rights movements because of all the Uncle Toms out there.

I will say within the fandom, something that is a shameless 2008 throwback anime with obvious cleavage windows, a lack of subtlety in sexual harassment and doing things the SJWs would be outraged by while parroting some anti LBGTQ+ agenda while being as sexy as possible

In comparison to this TOME is looking like high quality animation
It's not even worth it as a mocking watch

High Guardian Spice was before they were merged with all the other acquisitions. At this point Crunchyroll is a streaming platform for Aniplex and Funimation stuff.

Funimation is backing stuff like Legend of Heroes for 2022.

I struggle to have much faith in "based off a video game" anime but I suppose they at least have a better pedigree than "based off an MMO game."

Eh, I'm sure the true villain will turn out to be some sexist/transphobic/homophobic/racist white male, who will be killed off at the end.

The mom will get an emotional scene (Steven Universe style), in which she will cry, apologize and turn against the true villain.

While it's obvious the show has tons of positive impressions on social media, many are trying to bring the show down before it gets successful.

While anime spaces have previously been quite male-dominated in the US with a strong preference for shounen shows, there’s no denying how hits like Sailor Moon, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Yuri on Ice brought in tons of diverse viewers back when they originally aired.

Likely just as has been the case in comics and video games, this is just another group of people angry to see something they love changing and trying to lash out against that change.

I don't think there's much I could add to the discussion about this turd but am I the only one slightly annoyed by the coloring in this show? They're so bright and vibrant that they emphasize how much the characters don't mesh well with their environment esthetically. Granted, that's far from the worst problem with it from a visual standpoint, but it triggers a bit of annoyance in my brain every time I look at it.

Youtube reccomended me this video and It's like a youtube cartoon reviewer guy for the first half acting like it's super deep shit and also claiming people that don't like the show all already hated it and hate transpeople for like the other half of it.

The US has plenty of talent, it's just that their projects are too expensive to fund the way the industry currently is. And they would rather work in creative fields that actually pay them their job's worth.

Only if it's profitable. It doesn't matter how great a cartoon is. If it can't make money, it won't be able to influence the industry. And besides, a great cartoon needs a great amount of funding. Where's that money gonna come from, and why would people fund something with a minimal return on investment? Unless, of course, it operated on a business model that allowed for profit maximization, which, in that case, would be a huge blow to the industry.

Oh yeah, I remember this guy. What made me realize he was a fucking retard was when he stated he had a problem with RWBY's science fantasy setting and wanted to make it the most generic Tolkeinesque fantasy world possible, which, ironically, goes against Tolkein's creative principles for constructing believable settings - The man incorporated a wide variety of inspirations for his world, he didn't copy and paste his setting wholesale from a preexisting source, which is something this imbecile didn't comprehend.
