I've been wondering about that. I have to wonder if some of the food is making its way back to the Tranch. All those eggs, and it can't be easy to find a food pantry near Westcliffe.

Little late to the party, apologies, but I can confirm that not only does TJ's donate to food banks, they are NOTORIOUS for donating prepackaged stuff that's gone off before the marked "best-by" date (often by a couple days, so gross). Offering deli, dairy, and produce always involves more processing hours compared to canned goods, but it's well-known that some companies' pallets are reliably at least 50% trash when they roll off the truck. Alyssa being surprised and gratified that her food wasn't "expired" (but a lot of it was from TJ's) and saying that she got 144 eggs because otherwise they'd have to be thrown out actually sounds like she's telling the truth.

The last 19 months have been very strange for food banks- around here, it's meant ultra high demand volume but also a lot of donations from sort of weird sources (Aramark, for example). Sprouts also donates an enormous amount of food, and theirs is reliably in better shape than TJ's, if weirder. Stuff that's too weird or too far gone to give out gets picked over by volunteers and local farmers before hitting the compost or dumpster. Donated whole jackfruits usually went to indigent volunteers from expected cultures, for example. If you like fake meat and somewhat overripe (but not rotten) avocados but you're poor, there's zero reason to pay for it, the local food bank can likely hook you the fuck up.

I found myself with a lot of free time and not a lot of fear since lockdowns began and I've clocked about 300 hours of community service since, so while shit may vary regionally, I'm speaking from recent experience as a regular volunteer. I can also easily speculate why Alyssa isn't volunteering at a food bank anymore... you have to wonder about the parents who employed her as a nanny if the food bank thought she was too fucking crazy.

Made it about 5 minutes, during which time she did nothing but smoke weed and talk about how many random people tell her how beautiful she is and how they want to marry her. I wonder if she is doing this kind of stuff to try to pressure Bonnie into letting her live at the tranch. First it was seizures and she couldn't drive home. Then she needed him to stay with her and take care of her. She starts panicking about money, but his answer is hey, use my 3D printer to start your own business. So maybe she tried to make Bonnie jealous by saying she'd have to do sex work again thinking surely Bonnie would let her live on the ranch rather than see her with other men -- but nope. Bonnie is probably telling her she needs to act more femme to earn more money that way.

Looks like Penny has really laid down the law and Kindness is not allowed to live on the ranch. The only things left for Kindness to try is a pregnancy or suicide attempt. I'm guessing "pregnancy", followed by miscarriage, and then a suicide attempt. And Bonnie will still say no because you don't disobey the cult leader. Ever.

If there is a suicide attempt, I'm going to guess that she'll do a very shitty attempt. Like try to take a bunch of pills and then immediately run to Bonnie and say that her bird headmate is trying to kill the system. There is no way she would actually kill herself.
