Jurors for Kyle Rittenhouse Trial Are Swiftly Selected​

The judge pushed back against comments from potential jurors who said they had read and talked too much about the shootings that took place during unrest in Kenosha County, Wis.

Dozens of people were dismissed throughout the day and into the early evening, until the number of jurors was winnowed down to 20, a panel made up of 11 women and nine men. Twenty jurors will hear the case, and that number will be cut to 12 to reach a verdict. Kenosha County is 75 percent white, and the jury was overwhelmingly white.

He's still a kid, complete with baby face, maybe maternal instincts will kick in? Myabe it depends on how many are somewhat recent college grads/students? A jury of younger women would be horrific beyond imagination in any case.

I watched the jury selection and my take away was the prosecution was much better at handling the jury than the defense, which was a bit surprising to me considering how poorly the prosecution handled the pre-trial.

I have to say jury selection left me feeling a little less confident in the defences ability to sway the jury, which is already tainted and probably should have been sequestered just like Chauvins jury should have been.

I came away today feeling much more nervous for Rittenhouse than I was during the pre-trial.

I have hope the city of Kenosha is basically white conservative America. It isn't a blue city but kind of a red town by Wisconsin standards. If the jury is mostly local and is from Kenosha and Kyle rittenhouse practically lived in Kenosha I'm seeing him get off. Most of the city backs Kyle and if you ask them when no one is looking.

Well, I am not optimistic, at all. I didn't even realize the trial was starting until I saw it mentioned somewhere else today.

I feel so bad for Kyle, he did Kenosha a favor and now he's gonna get screwed for it. And he's so young too. And even if he's found not guilty, like other users are saying, they'll get him on civil charges. YES I AM DOOMPOSTING.

My hope is that most of the jury is rural. With how crazy things seem to sound behind the scenes, the best we can hope for is a hung jury. Maybe Kyle gets lucky and wins, but some of the questions the defense asked were just downright retarded. Instead of trying to out jurors that might be useful to the defense, they should’ve tried to trigger the Karen’s that the prosecution wants on the jury. They should’ve asked questions based on the complete lies the media told and asked whether they feel that believing those things would influence their selection. It really is sad that a lot of the people were cowards and tried to get out of it, I know there’s risk but this is an important moment in the history of this country and if Kyle is convicted we are going down a dark path.
