holy shit. i've been sporadically lurking this thread for a while & watching this kind of content on other websites for years and i've never seen something like this, had to make an account to react. the eerie atmosphere somehow reminds me of cannibal holocaust, or at least the vague memory i have of it. i didn't think impalement was still practiced not so long ago. what a document. thank you for exhuming it & offering subtitles.

Calling fake on this one. I think it’s just a French made re-enactment of an impalement execution and definitely not a guy actually being impaled. Just looks like acting to me plus all the angles are just screaming “planned shot” and not real event. Especially the final shot where you can see the impaled guy’s terrible acting while the bloody spike sticks out his back (which we never see emerge from his back just like we never get a clear anal action shot of the impalement).

Also that one shot of the executioner’s face from the victim’s perspective as he laughs, lol no way someone would get that shot during a real execution. It would be louder, more chaotic, single shot, and people in crowd would constantly be walking in front of the shot and they would not be making exaggerated drawn out facial expressions that inexperienced actors make.

It's fake; tons of eurotrash Faces-of-Death-type films got made in the 80's, and this is from one of them. I've actually seen this particular scene before back in highschool. My local Blockbuster had probably the best foreign/art-film section in the whole national francise, though a lot of it was undubbed & unsubbed.

To this day, I wonder about that store's manager; they always had the best selection, even for regular movies, which I never saw anywhere else.

I constantly see this behaviour from young women - they are unable to drive and talk to a passenger at the same time, without taking their eyes off the road. It's their need to see the facial expressions of the person they are talking to.
It's dangerous and causes many accidents.
Women basically need to be in a soundproof bubble while in charge of a vehicle. Or ban them from driving.

Thank you. This was fun, but so obviously fake that I just assumed everyone was going along with it as a joke.
It would be wild to see a real impalement though, other than "drunk/freak accident falling onto some rebar" etc

Yeah I always kinda wondered about this clip. Part of me was suspicious, and reading the comments here it's pretty obvious now in hindsight that it was indeed staged.

I'm more amazed at how many people are seeing it for the first time! I have a copy from 2004, and may have even seen it earlier than that. Hmm, I should dig through my archives and see what other "classics" haven't been uploaded yet...
