I always assumed it was just expense.
A good weave/lace front wig costs $$$ and time. I think it just goes to further show that they see women as a costume that they can put on and take off at will.
Might also have something to do with head size? I’m not a wig expert here, but I imagine that most non-custom wigs for women come small enough for a woman’s head, and, as we have often seen, dudes have big heads.
There's actually not as much varience between head sizes as you'd think. Most average adults have a head circumference of ~22-24 inches. Children aren't too much smaller, a child of only 7-8 has a head that's about 18 inches around. Women don't necessarily have smaller heads either, my husband and I both have a 22 inch head.
