A good weave/lace front wig costs $$$ and time. I think it just goes to further show that they see women as a costume that they can put on and take off at will.

Might also have something to do with head size? I’m not a wig expert here, but I imagine that most non-custom wigs for women come small enough for a woman’s head, and, as we have often seen, dudes have big heads.
They might be searching for wigs that look feminine but are big enough for their head. Then you only have the cheapest of silly Halloween wigs or custom wigs that drag queens and dedicated cross dressers would use. So again, $$$$

Why take the time to grow your hair, or the $$ and effort to get a weave/custom wig when you can slap in a costume that can come off the moment you are uncomfortable.

This is what kills me. There is an entire online cottage industry of cheap man-size wigs. There are likewise hundreds of wig tutorials on Youtube. I think this an underrated part of it, especially with younger troons. Young people (eg, zoomer age) are having far less sex than they used to, and it wouldn't surprise me if the age of one's first romantic relationship is much higher than it used to be as well. And this would of course apply far more to the extremely online type, which is where most troons come from.

They get the majority of their sexual knowledge from pornography or fanfiction and most of their relationships seem to be online. If you rarely interact with actual genitals, maybe the idea of a "bigoted genital preference" makes more sense than it does to a normal person.

And it might explain why there is such a focus on creating an aesthetic copy of the other sex's genitals (yes, I know they still look like garbage even by that standard) rather than aiming for something functional: because that is what their idea of sexuality is, an appearance on a screen. Pleasing and connecting with a partner, not so much. Even connecting with people in a purely physical/sexual way (not even bringing emotional connection into it) seems to be something a lot of them do not fully understand. It's more like the desire to perform a porn scene together.
