I think a lot of attorneys don't understand how much it matters if the jury likes you the lawyer, not your client. Letting binger look like a slime ball by relentlessly fucking with his own witness is an easy decision. If the jury hates Binger they're going to say "government is railroading Good-boy Kyle" and vote him innocent. It's even easier if they like homeboy Richards and his rediculious accent and easy going nature.

I would save the blackpills for Daniel Perry in Austin. The guy he shot has a wheelchair bound widow for maximum sympathy points and he's going to have his fate decided by a jury drawn from Californian rejects. The prosecutors own witness have, so far, characterized Kyle as - at worst - a good natured dipshit. This isn't a great start for the prosecutor, who appears to be going for the strategy of trying to show that Kyle was agitating people and caused his own problem.
