I literally do not follow any vtuber type streamers but my friend keeps sending me shit by them even now and it's insane to me how These people do not get the fact that the vtuber stuff isn't solely tied to the fucking avatars. Though the avatar does play a big role in why it's called a vtuber. The main draw is the same draw as any other lets play/game stream with commentary but the player has a funny cartoon mocap avatar. That draw being the person's personality and how they approach the game. People like to watch other people play games and have fun and shit it's not about the avatars. You could give a vtuber the shittiest mspaint ass avatar in the history of avatars people would still watch them if they had that specific spice and enthusiasm you need to gain fans as a streamer.
/vt/ made history today by surpassing /his/'s post count. Also, /vt/ was the fastest board again today for a few hours (their Hololive General has been going 30+ posts per minute for hours now), /vg/ was second, /pol/ was third.

IIRC, It was when the HoloEN 1st-anniversary stream on Sept 22 was when the board hit number 1 on 4chan. Though TBF, you are correct that /vt/ was the fastest board on 4chan at the time by having 124.20 posts/min and having at least seven Globel threads being made for that HoloEN Holloween collab. I don't think a lot of people realize just how prevalent the Vtuber community is on 4chan. Before the split, /hlg/ used to hit the 2000 reply limit on /jp/ every 2-3 hours and boasted a posts/minute of usually around 10-15, which is much higher than /ptg/ (the Trump thread on /pol/, the fastest board on average) and most of the generals on /vg/, which average usually around 6-8 posts/minute. The highest posts per minute for a single thread I think was Gura's outfit reveal in May this year, which was allegedly the fastest thread in 4chan history.
Here's a screenshot I took when I was monitoring 4stats at the time:
Allegedly when she began showing the outfit, the post rate hit 400 posts/minute for a single minute, which is fucking mind-bogglingly fast. To put this into perspective, KF only reached its 10M GET recently over around a decade of existence while /vt/ alone has reached 12.3M posts in 9 months. This isn't even factoring in posts from /jp/ or the Western vtuber thread on /trash/. Vtuber fans are truly the new bronies.
EDIT: To clarify, the screenshot I posted above is for the board at some point during the outfit reveal. /pol/ allegedly had 600 posts/minute for the entire board during the 2016 election but it was spread out throughout multiple threads so no single thread really got that high. The 400 posts/minute figure was more accurately 327 posts/minute and was for the sticky that was active during the reveal. Here's an analysis from an anon I remember reading at the time:

I wish I recorded the apex of vt autism, when the Hololive EN Gen2 debuted, and people started doxxing the girls. What broke the camel's back is when people discovered that most of the girls, get this, had BOYFRIENDS. The reason is that lots of vtubers (I'd go as far as saying most of them) sell a boy/girlfriend experience, Rushia got to be the most superchatted vtuber in the world thanks to this. If you act all cutesy and say that your viewers are cheating on you when they are watching someone else, sell valentines audio and do romantic ASMR what else are you expecting? Even the vtubers that don't go that far still try to manipulate you into a parasocial relationship. She will say ara ara with a milf impression because weebs find it hot, she will tell you about her routine, sell you body pillows and boob mousepads, and if you become a member you'll get anime watchalongs with her.
There are a few exceptions to this, I used to watch vtubers that lie more to the entertainer side myself (I got kinda bored of them, though), but these exceptions are few and far between.
I mean, at least I hope that Shiba Inu from Nijisanji doesn't want you to think of her that way.
