Man, while Destiny is very well aware of crazy Leftists, I'm surprised by how oblivious he apparently is in regard to the controversy of Critical Race Theory in school when asked about it by chat today. He just immediately went with the "isn't it just a legal study in higher education?" excuse and also dismissed the issue as being overblown because he doesn't recall any weird racial shit back when he was in Nebraskan Catholic high school fifteen years ago. Wish I could remember when this moment was from today's stream so I could pinpoint the timestamp.

At this point I believe it's unlikely that Destiny is genuinely oblivious about the ongoing debate and the underlying principles. Based on the position he's in, it's much better for him to not casually discuss this issue. Unless it was an older stream I don't buy in any way shape or form that he unironically believes it's that simple and not emotionally charged on both sides. CRT is becoming increasingly indefensible unless you're a serious leftist willing to commit to certain underlying ideas. I don't think Destiny wants to have that discussion and is probably just brushing it off.

Perhaps he regrets it in hindsight, considering it was his impassioned defense of Rittenhouse that he lost his Twitch partnership for. If he still had that vocal conviction, I imagine he would've reserved yesterday's stream for covering the trial's opening instead of (sponsored?) Age of Empires IV, an old NYT article about the ACLU, and a Richard Wolff interview. Similarly, he also didn't cover the Virginia election, perhaps because it would've necessitated him speaking on the fight over education infested with CRT and queershit.

We'll see what happens. But if he really cared about "political power" of Democrats, he'd certainly address CRT. Some people in this thread made the assumption that he probably doesn't want to push boundaries even more and I'd probably agree with that.

In recent Virginia governor elections that has happened like 2 days ago, quarter of voters found CRT being taught in schools as the most important issue and 72 % of those voted for Republican Youngkin. Also "Most Youngkin voters — about three-quarters — said the public school system in Virginia is focusing on racism too much. Among McAuliffe voters, just over half said the focus is too little, while about a third said it’s about right."
