You see the attitudes they're launching toward Winsome Sears. The most "offensive" thing the woman has said was that she loves America. You'd think the Dems would LOVE her, because she represents a lot of what they supposedly champion. Here she is, a black woman, an immigrant from another country at that, and she has achieved upward mobility in politics and in some ways is even performing on a national stage despite being in state level politics. You know how in "Fresh Prince of Belair", Carlton was the butt of all the jokes and called a sellout?

That's how the black community feels about their own going to college, specially for STEM.

It's the "you think you're better than us" mentality, a.k.a tall poppy syndrome.

Even more so, even after being the butt of their jokes and called a sellout your whole life, you are still expected to pay all their bills if you get a $100K job.

"You aren't hurting." "You can afford to help us out." "WE'RE YOUR FAMILY!"

So yeah, when someone who's making $100K doesn't freely pay bills for their unemployed relatives, the unemployed relatives feel "abandoned". Because they "could help out" and choose not to. It's like an actual nuclear family ironically enough but turned up to 11; you are the "primary breadwinner" of the family so you are expected to pay for everything.

It's the second biggest reason why the upper middle class blacks flee black neighborhoods after crime of course: your family demanding your money while getting nothing in return.

It's also the reason why GIBS work so well: free money with nothing expected in return. These people don't WANT to be self-sufficient so any black person that does is an internalized white boy.

To be fair, this doesn't just apply to the black community. Here is an example from Million Dollar Baby where the protagonist buys her family a house because they are living in a trailer and their response is anger, to call her stupid, and tell her to give up her lucrative boxing career to be just like them. (We'll ignore what happens in the title fight for analogy sake).
