Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Those will be the least of you problems when your dollars return to being their natural value: nothing.
my cousin's reaction to hearing the dollar hasn't been backed by gold since Nixon was fucking hilarious when he ragged on me for getting into crypto
That's perfectly fine. I have tons of assets and no cash. If the value of the dollar crashes, my debts disappear, but the assets retain value. I understand the implications and accept them.

Why did I even bother getting optimistic this time anyway? Should've known it was cope the whole time. I'm betting against the grain that 2022 will be a blue wave purely because clown world logic works backwards. Maybe the GOP will unironically back DNC candidates, or we'll see republican candidates donating to their opposition- I don't know, but they'll fuck it up somehow.

So Pelosi barely managed to get a budget passed because some RINOs bitched out as RINOs tend to do? Why are certain people in this thread upset about this? This is Pelosi barely managing to tread water politically, not some sort of triumph.
It's because people are rightfully tired of Republicans snatching defeat from the hands of victory. They get a big political win and not three fuckin' days later they're RINOing it up in Congress. How can a base stay motivated when they're constantly being stabbed in the back? Republicans have to stop this shit or they're going to be in trouble during mid-terms. If the BBB shit passes I'm voting for a democrat out of spite.

That's a fair enough concern, but I find it doubtful that anything else the Dems want( as far as spending and the so called voting rights bill are concerned anyway) will actually pass with GOP support.

They are called GOPe for a reason

A lot of people like myself are fucked over by this one passing alone is the point.
Again, fair enough, and from what I understand I may have some issues here? I'm not really into Cryptocurrency all that much but I do have some 35 dollars worth of BAT that I've accumulated since I've started using the Brave browser, does anyone know how much crypto you need to have before you have to report it to the IRS? That aside though, we always knew we were going to be subject to economic pain and suffering once the Dems got in, it's just a question of how much.

I may've been a bit too heavy, but my lack of optimism is threefold:

1: It shows potential moderates and unsatisfied dems that even if you vote against the blue, the red you vote in may cave anyway making it worthless. This encourages less people to vote red in blue areas in case they're red donkeys.
2: It shows that even in the wake of momentum that Republican officials CAN AND WILL side with the opposition even when they're on the backfoot, showing seasoned red voters that it may not matter, demoralizing them without dem intervention.
3: This is the big one for me because I can fucking see it happening. The dems will primary 'blue dogs' which will lie about being 'more ruthless' than the RINOs while talking about how Republicans can't 'get things done'. RINOs get replaced by loyalist dems due to misplaced trust, these bills are back on the table. If this happens expect some new bills with suspiciously identical price tags to to crop up even if they're shut down.

Again, probably too heavy because we're a year out and I'm making a huge assumption that one or two other bills will be similar. On the other hand the other bills haven't come to pass and at this point I honestly don't know which ones will be shot down because clown world.

I believe any amount above ten thousand or it might be blanket purchases over ten thousand. I'm hoping there'll be a legal fight against this shit though. I'm going to get in touch with my lawyer tomorrow.

Exactly. This on it's own isn't the end of the world but it's frustrating and hurts faith in the Republican party's ability to govern. If you vote for Democrats they will at the very least govern (not well and will ultimately destroy the country but NPCs don't care about that). They'll vote for the people who "do their jobs" regardless if they do those jobs badly or not. Republicans had a chance to at least put up a unified front and they didn't even do that.

We'll have to wait and see what happens I guess, but I personally don't see them passing much else with GOP support.

Lol at the people thinking that passing the infrastructure bill will somehow hurt the GOP with moderates. People have wanted an infrastrastructure bill passed for years. Trump promised one and never even tried to deliver.

That's because the Dems have actual party line discipline and would never vote on it no matter the content whereas the majority of the GOP are Randroids. There were three or four false starts on it back during his term. Passing the opposition's legislation only helps that opposition because you're conceding that even as their enemy you still want to support it and that if there were less of you and more of them such legislation would pass more easily.

Its not the infrastructure bill part that people are bitching about. Its the other 90% of it. Well, that and the cowardice, doormat stylings, and overall lack of ability to provide actual representation.

You'll note that the people opposed to this stuff would in general prefer to string up the GOP reps who switched sides over stringing up the Dems. You need to understand that idea first and understand where it comes from. Its okay in a way for the Dems to act the way they do in that they can claim some form of legitimacy in providing representation. Whereas the GOP reps who switched side are seen as directly fucking over the core principals of the matter. So you end up with a whole lot of people who have been built up from the start believing in ideals such as "No taxation without representation" looking at a system and sincerely believing they have no representation in the government. Which on the one hand leads them to not holding the government as legitimate but furthermore leads to a focus being the part of the government that allegedly should represent them.

Ultimately it'll just open things up for more general extremism. If given the choice between standard politician #725 or "guy who actually represents your values in a way that hasn't been offered to you in decades, but also wants to kill all the dutch", there will slowly be more and more people who don't give a shit about anything after the word but.
