All you people speculating that he had to be drunk, if he was actually drunk he'd be in jail. I've been in couple car wrecks, they always checked my BAC, I'm almost certain that is always the case. Without a doubt dude was distracted driving, and probably under the influence of pills or weed.
If i'm wrong it it turns out he was drunk, dude won't have to worry about other court cases, he will get proper fucked by the car wreck. No insurance in the world would pay out if was drunk, so he'd be on the hook for whatever he owed, probably some law on the books to make him automatically at fault so he'd be responsible for the other vehicle as well as whatever medical costs to the other driver. And a DUI charge, with his driving record he wouldn't get away with a fine on that either, jail time. maybe not a lot, but absolutely some.

He’s lucky the accident occurred during normal morning hours and not 3 am. They are far less likely to demand certain tests for intoxicated driving (esp drugs) if the accident happens 6 am - 6pm. Not going to the hospital spared him any blood tests too, but given he was at fault he didn’t want to be on the hook for more bills.

It’s another way we know it was all the Gunt’s fault. Had the other guy been at fault Ralph would have been screaming about his neck and back and gone to the hospital. He’d be rubbing his hooves together in anticipation of his big lawsuit settlement win.

He’s more fucked than you think because the terms of a loan Ralph got create a much bigger gap than is typical. It’s funny he thinks they are going to get a newer and better car when all they will do is send a check to his finance company that’s less than what he owes.
I’m sure his good buddies at Nissan will be happy to finance another high interest loan for him on another car to tack onto to what he still owes on the wrecked car.

Way more than $2k because Ralph is going to try finance another car and the cost of full comprehensive insurance on a car after this accident? Shit, it will be as much as the car payment. I’d bet his current insurance might drop him completely and tell him to kick rocks.

Given his past most insurance companies won’t want his business and the ones who do will make him pay through the nose, probably require he have a monitoring device that will track his speed and prevent him from reading KF while driving too.

Even if they didn't, modern cars record a lot of the inputs/outputs to the point where it will be clear who was at fault regardless. There are other surprising ways they can determine fault too. They could easily determine if and when Ralph had applied the brakes and if this was during a red light.

If there is reason to suspect Ralph is at fault, they could likely subpoena his phone to see if it was being used at the time.
