Mainly a combination of two things I think.
You know all this talk about sex shifting spells and potions reminds me: Pathfinder already has just such a potion. Its called the Elixir of Sex Shift. It pretty much works just like the potion that Caraway drinks, but with key differences. First off, its effects are permanent once drunken, and the magic it uses to change you can't be dispelled. However, drinking a second elixir will allow you to change back, or even just slightly alter your sexual characteristics. Yes, the potion allows you to alter your specific details of your appearance, particularly sexual characteristics like breast size, to a limited extent; I just realized that, theoretically, it can also be used to increase your penis size, which is good for anyone with a complex about that. For creatures from species that have wide variances in how they express their sexual characteristics, they have control over how this elixir transforms them. A person who was forced to imbibe the elixir against their will can simply choose to not change at all. It should be recognized that this isn't a potion of sex change, so much as a potion that allows you change certain sexual characteristics. Second, it specifically doesn't work on creatures that are pregnant, or that come from races that lack sexual dimorphism. Third, while the elixir will change your physiology to make you another sex, and allow you to adjust features, you are still recognizable as your original identity, so it gives you no bonuses to things like disguising yourself. People will still be able to look at you and tell its you.

Yeah, very stunning and brave way to subvert toxic masculinity by telling boys they have to be trans if they like feminine things.
It's funny because the transman in this show is very effeminate, should he be beefy and stereotypically masculine looking then?
No, because the transman in this show is the creator's self insert. Transmen don't want to be actual men (real men are icky~!), they want be either soft yaoi uke (or their favourite anime character) or kpop idol and live out their mlm fantasies. Raye is no exception.

Remember that time they were hyped about a black female in some doujin and then so pissed that she was using a dark bodyglove outfit they racebent the character without knowing that she was a sex slave in some massive rape dungeon? They go to such inmense lengths to change things to what they think it's right only to make complete fools of themselves later.

The head of the good guy academy is a maiden, mother, crone thing with one woman in three bodies. This is clearly the same thing but evil. And male.
Someone has been watching AHS: Apocalypse. The main school is for girls, obviously, but they have a counterpart for male witches and they're mean and pathetic, of course.
