People have the right to choose whatever they like, but they shouldn't complain if then people aren't sexually attracted to them because they've limited their attractiveness. I'm sure there are some people actually attracted to that.

Why are men expected to have six pack abs and developed muscles? It takes effort to get those, too, and if you don't, women into those things won't be attracted to you.

It's not that any of these things are objectively morally better, but if you put effort into things that the opposite (or appropriate) sex finds attractive, you'll be more attractive to them.

First of all, a wild (unshaved, ungroomed) beard on a man is generally considered improper, too - such a man would also be told that he lacks grooming. So it's not that societal expectations to "take care of yourself" only exist for one gender.

As for overall body hair (i.e. all hair except on the head), since women naturally have less of it than men, it's perceived as feminine to have as little as possible. And since displaying femininity is what normie (i.e. non-feminist) women typically go for when grooming/dressing themselves, that obviously affects society's grooming standards and expectations.

Women have less hair than men, but the presence of hair is a post pubescents sign/sign of sexual maturity on women. So the evolutionary psychology point fails.

Sorry to quote you again. But the issue isn't that men find hairless women attractive. It is that men use pseudo science to explain it.

Hair on the body is a sign of fertility in females. The desire for a lack of hair is CULTURAL and is not rooted in some silly evolutionary psychology.

For example men shaving their chest is relatively new. It is a cultural preference, it not rooted in human sexuality and reproduction. But people always take beauty rituals women are expected to engage in and throw in non-science to it.

When the "Old boys" in question just means "Alumni of a school," - so a 17 year old who has left school is an "Old boy" of the school, thus the metaphorical "Old boys club" is the idea that to get anywhere in life, you have to have been a boy who went to the right school (ie, Eton, or at least a major public school). It's like "The old school tie" - It's a pun on both "The uniform -tie- of this school is recognised by other alumni, (And used to signal membership in the right social club)" and "The bonds -ties- made at school last for life."
