Look, I was on his forum, there were specific rules about what not to write, if you don't wana be banned. As long as I obey those rules, I was fine. I got banned eventually, but I did brake the rule about writing against TGWTG producer. Community was mixed, like in every forum, and there were also Benzaie, Linkara, Lupa, PushingUpRoses... So I don't think Scarlett was that cruel, I believe she got that heat because she was dating Noah at the time. Forums are a tricky thing to maintain, there are different types of users, and you do need to ban (or permaban) people when they brake the rules, to protect the forums integrity. For a minor problem, you did get a warning. Majority of Spoonys audience actually liked Scarlett and respected her. Also, when ever I asked her over DM, I got the response in 24 hour top.

Despite his claim that trolls had no effect on him, someone expresed dislike at one of his awful collab videos, and he went berserk. Any criticism, however minimal, was treated with a swift ban, until there was nothing but sunshine and rainbows and puppy breath.

Spoony screeching about FF8 wasn't a bad decision to me. I got a few laughs from those reviews, and it helped me realize the game wasn't a masterpiece as many initial reviews made it out to be. It was refreshing at the time in the same way that the Plinkett prequel reviews were. There was a time between the early to mid 2000s where shitting on beloved franchises like Star Wars and Final Fantasy would have been considered taboo. After Spoony and RedLetterMedia distanced themselves from their original format, there are some who may have forgotten the cultural impact they had on those of us who grew up on the old Youtube platform.
