hbomberguy / Harry "Harris" Brewis / Slazenger Rapemachine Whiteshaf - "Rational" SJW, former SA goon/LPer, sexual harassment apologist, raised $350K+ for child abuse cult

SA goon and troll to pathetic cuck who lusts after the blood of a kid who was just defending himself from armed creeps. Sad, many such cases.

Does he even still put out content on vidya or has he gone full turbo twitter communist now?

You know damn well what pattern his output follows: politics and nerd stuff. It's not changed significantly over the years.
He'll have a video out on Deus Ex Human Revolutions soon, first hour will be available on his patreon in the near future.

First HOUR? Holy shit, and people actually pay him to spew his movie length drivel at them. I guess it could be worse, could be mauler tier length or like that one autist who did an 8 hour video on Oblivion and called it a "Short Critique" or something :story:

It's increasingly common among youtube video essayists, a detrimental trend. They always feel the need to explain every detail & plot beat, give their opinion on every pixel shown and worse.
Harris isn't a good media critic/video editor to begin with, so watching one of his "masterpieces" (as braindead subscribers often put it) is a gruelling experience.

People watch that stuff because of FOMO, social media fried their brain and now they have to be up to date with everything that passes their timeline.
I suggest watching some of those videos if you have some spare time; if you've played the game, they rarely add anything of note.
Few creators can make 90+ minutes worth your while. Noah Caldwell Gervais, despite being an abysmal player and having negative insight into gameplay, can pull it off.

I think what annoys me about Harris more than anything is just how... arrogant he is.

He comes off as too good to acknowledge criticism or errors in his works, relying on circlejerks to cover up for the inevitable barrage of errors and inaccuracies. His Fallout 3 video is filled to the brim with surface level critique of the game, while his New Vegas video is just a similarly surface-level blowjob of how good Vegas is. Even as someone who does love New Vegas, Harris's video is a terrible example of why people like it, and he just comes off as a Fallout grognard who probably still believes that conspiracy theory about Bethesda sabotaging Obsidian with the Metacritic bonus. His Deus Ex video will likely be a similarly uninspired set of takes, probably involving potshots at Mankind Divided to prop up Human Revolution.

All of this on top of the attitude he possesses of "I like Thing but if you don't like Thing, or if you like a Thing that I hate, you're a slimy weirdo who will die alone." The one time that's worked has been his attitude towards RWBY and that's one of the lowest-hanging fruits to pick on because the show is terrible and Rooster Teeth are a collection of incompetent hack writers falling upwards.

Also I just think it's really skeevey that Harris's Patreon is set for monthly paydays but he's lucky to put out two bits of content a year on average due to him being a pedantic, lazy fucker too addicted to Twitter to just put out a goddamn video.

He does seem to have a rather unusually long neck that goes well with his fetal alcohol syndrome appearance.

This is Colin, the sentient, and later detachable, phallus of the Marquis de Sade, from the French and Belgian film Marquis
I'm not the only one who thinks that thumbnail art sort of looks like lower quality GTA V artwork, right?
re-animator-reanimator-vintage-movie-poster-original-1-sheet-27x41-6712.jpg

What was the point of basing his thumbnail on a poster for a film about a student who performs illegal experiments in his basement, doing strange things with people's bodies for some nebulous scientific achievement, with horrifying results as a consequence? Is this Hdeboonker's way of dabbing on Anti-vaxxers, because that is just an unoptical tactic for his argument in disuading his opponents' claims about any harmful effects on the COVID-Vax, which is what it truly is about, not the very general topic of the Anti-Vaccination Movement as a whole.

Harris probably thought he was mocking what he thinks Anti-Vaxxers believe how vaccines are made. Though if what we've been hearing about the harmful effects of the COVID-Vax turn out to be true, Harris accidentally dunked on himself by basing the thumbnail for his video on that.

I checked out the vaccine video and now I belive Halo effect is real. He was blabering on and on about vaccines and research and all I could think is "WASH YOUR FUCKING LAB COAT, HARRY YOU TWAT". Like, alright you wanna look a bit repulsive for lighter comedic tone, but again, you are trying to get your point to the audience while being covered in stake grease.
Again, imagine Ben Shapiro having a public speech, and right at the start, he covers himself with literal shit G.G. Alin-style.

Meh, Noah Caldwell-Gervais is better only in that his presentation style is less obnoxious. He simply talks while showing footage of the game in question on screen, as opposed to Hbomberguy's incessant "funny" quips and constant use of over the top, Nostalgia Critic-esque skits that treat the viewer like an imbecile.

Noah has had some pretty garbage takes over the years (Call of Duty: World at War's depiction of Imperial Japan was racist because it was unsympathetic, Postal 2 is a bad game because it allows the player to act like a bad person without consequence, referring to the writings of the scumbag Frantz Fanon as if they were worthy of respect when talking about the themes in Resident Evil 5, etc.). I respect him because he clearly puts a lot of effort into his videos, but it doesn't take listening to him long to know that he's "one of those people".

harris is the proof breadtube and video reviews are just giant scams. its so easy to just splice together other people's game footage and talk over it. its like a day or two of recording his stupid live action bits followed by a few days of dialogue and the rest is just splicing footage with cheap after effects text flares. this is not rocket science, this isn't even real editing. yet he rakes it in by the boat load. do nothing and get paid. "it was such a long video." yeah id take forever and a day to if all i did was play video games and binge twitter instead of my job. but his simps will pay him to say what they want to hear.

Breadtubers and their fans really are subhuman in every way.

i tried to get into the youtube content gravy train for a while since it's kind of what i went to college for (lmao) and gave up a long ass time ago, and i made like half of a video about the wu-tang clan and just kind of disagreed with what i was trying to say halfway into making it. it was instrumental to my realization that these long-form video essays really aren't essays at all, they use filmmaking techniques to hammer in a point that may not even be remotely true, but it sure sounds convincing. people understand a lot of the tools of film are used to manipulate the viewer into constructing a narrative about the characters on-screen but it's really no different from a talking head doing a critical analysis of a topic that uses dramatic editing techniques to hammer their point in. it's still a narrative, but dressed up as intellectual critique that appears to hold more water than an individual's opinion, made worse by a bloated runtime

plus 'critical analysis' is just a semantic obfuscation for 'critical theory' which is commie horseshit of the highest order, and gives you the tools to pretty much argue whatever the fuck you want while sounding intelligent. it's motte and baileys and trolls truisms all the way down, and most people mistake those as salient points. the very medium of youtube itself is part of the problem too because videos are monolithic and difficult to split up unlike paragraphs in an essay. even an effective refutation of a video point-by-point is going to fall on deaf ears because you're still beholden to the runtime of video - it's not like anybody is willing to get linked to a 14 minute timestamp in a video essay about why another video essay is bad, and especially not True Fans. it's pretty much the perfect platform for people who have overdosed on cultural marxism because it effectively immunizes you from any real criticism that could threaten to topple your ivory tower, and why those people inevitably go off the deep by gassing themselves with their own farts

What is especially sad is how people like Harris desperately want to disguise their political sperging with video game reviews. They really want to hammer in the point that games are "better than they can be" and "art forms meant to critique society and the world". It's like, no, you sped. They're products meant to entertain people of all ages. Although some games do have somewhat of an artistic intent behind them, at the end of the day they're objective is to sell and entertain because the industry is a business. This is too much for Harris and his circlejerk to fathom.
