This is just Cover continuing to maintain good corporate relations/partnerships with one of the biggest media conglomerates in Japan (Kadokawa). Lots of folks are still hung-up on these 3 being anitubers and overlooking the fact that they're Kadokawa employees at this point and that Trash Taste Podcast is just a western-audience catered Kadokawa production. Just typical good business considering the previous Calli guest stint on Trash Taste paved the way for multiple Bookwalker (another Kadokawa subsidiary) sponsorships for the EN Holos.

So i am gonna assume in near future we will have more manga reading streams now that sponsor is "secured"?

Calli's a delightful pocket dimension of spaghetti, but I'm waiting to see both here and /vt/ reactions (since I know some will document the hilarious parts). I'm divided on whether I think both will overreact to the collab or overreact to comments on the collab.

It is pretty mild as far as i can see. Compared to back in June when whole board was pink or last years case this is nothing.
Also most of threads have seemed to devolve into gossiping about TT guys more than Mori episode itself.

Yes. And its not a coincidence by the way. A few days ago, Kadokawa declared they will work closer with foreign partners to promote their products more. Some interpreted it as they prefer CR's marketing effort more than Netflix. This also meant that they will invest more on foreign marketing, which is honestly a no brainer.

And who else fits that foreign marketing besides HoloEN and Trash Taste? In TT's case, all of the host are employed by an agency who works with Japanese corpo for marketing and such, chief among them is none other than Kadokawa itself

In fact, Kiara's stream was absurdly short for her playing a JRPG, even mentioned "first 2 hours" in the title, so I assumed that was a streaming restriction (as in, straight-up only allowed to stream the first 2 hours), could be wrong though.

The biggest problem with Kadokawa's marketing is that they want their own distribution platform abroad which they honestly are in no position to swing. Bookwalker fucking sucks and the fact that it doesn't have integration with the most popular ebook reader platform (Amazon's Kindle) is a massive problem. Amazon is super shitty but it's where everyone is and they're shooting themselves in the foot by not at least setting up a presence there to hook people into reading manga/LNs.
