I’m pretty sure they had new or additional panels fitted this summer, along with improvements to the electrics - new batteries I’d guess.
I’d imagine they’ve had plentiful power from solar since then, at least during daylight hours. It’ll become an issue later on in winter when you get short days, clouds, snow cover on the panels etc.
Btw generators have a sine wave output, it might be badly regulated but it is inherently a sine wave. Cheap crappy inverters are what give the square wave output - that makes things buzz and some items (like microwaves) won’t work. I would expect they have a proper sine wave inverter, personally.
Modern power supplies can cope with either though, whatever the waveform or voltage it gets rectified first anyway.
Agreed on the wind turbine. They’d fuck it up and decapitate one of the Alpaca though.
