Kyle is seen by millions across the country as a hero. As we saw in Virginia a couple weeks ago, the Right can mobilize when they're sufficiently outraged. Putting a conservative icon in prison for life is going to give the jury many enemies.

I agree the more information and facts you have, the better, I'm just saying we already have the facts. It's a very narrow case, whether it was self defense or not. This judge seemed to be very focused on the core facts, statue, intent of the legislature and precedent, so I'm not sure how much more focused his lawyers needed to be.

Some judges don't like meandering lawyers who throw everything in but the kitchen sink and I think this judge is one of those. He also seemed mindful of Kyle's constitutional rights, which is important, it means he doesn't want an appeal on those grounds. Also Binger was blatantly violating those rights and he stopped him right away, hence the verbal beat down.

There are so many factors that speak for the fact that this is likely faked.

He's generally not an emotional person and shows little emotion elsewhere during the trial.
There were no tears.
That line of questioning has been rehearsed so many times with his lawyers and he has had t o emotional process it.
It's clearly effective because people in general are emotionally driven rather than rational and so there is a motive.

The old argument of what have conservatives conserved comes into argument. Remember the progressives would have a society where crossing state lines requires permission, you couldn't smoke in your own home, and your kids would be on mandatory hormone blockers until told otherwise because it's "progress".
