Idk, I haven't dumped any friends over Kenosha Kid nor do I plan to. But I stopped talking to, helping, or even associating with a lot of people based on their responses to events like this case over the course of the last year. Why? Because at a certain point, people reveal themselves to be different than you thought they were, and it's okay to separate from them because of it. If i have some "friend" who believes white people are racist by birth, that killing infants in the womb is acceptable and bodily autonomy that should be protected but wants to push forced jabs, or someone who believes that I would be a murderer if I shot someone attacking me, if that person happened to be their political ally - I don't have a friend in that case, I have someone who I am ideologically opposed to on nearly every level who probably still asks me for shit sometimes. Fuck that noise lol.

As to this case itself, in my local area at least people are more or less 100% pro Kenosha Kid. I think in a non clown world the fact that this case even made it this far would be a stain on the justice system.

A conviction requires a unanimous jury. Some places will reduce the size of the jury to 6, down from the traditional 12, for less serious offenses and some civil matters.

There are so many factors that speak for the fact that this is likely faked.

He's generally not an emotional person and shows little emotion elsewhere during the trial.
There were no tears.
That line of questioning has been rehearsed so many times with his lawyers and he has had t o emotional process it.
It's clearly effective because people in general are emotionally driven rather than rational and so there is a motive.
