The Rittenhouse trial isn't high profile enough?
Such decisions are firmly within the judge's discretion. Jury selection seems like it was fairly uneventful - they seated a jury in one day, which I didn't expect. Selection in the Arbery trial took two weeks, by way of comparison. He probably figured the trial wasn't likely to become a media circus like some other cases, so no need to sequester the jury. Plus, Kenosha isn't that big - if you put all the jurors up in a hotel for two weeks, the location is going to leak and you're going to have people harassing them.
