What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I stopped watching Girlfriend Reviews ever since they went nuts in their attempt to defend and support the story for The Last Of Us Part II:

I mean seriously, wanting Abby to die means that "you lost the game Naughty Dog was playing with your soul"? What does that even mean?
It's pretentious bullshit for saying "Haha plebian you don't understand the story like I do!"

I mean seriously, wanting Abby to die means that "you lost the game Naughty Dog was playing with your soul"? What does that even mean?
Means they've accepted that Abby is an awful human being that illicits contempt. And the excuse is that they made her terrible on purpose rather than being blind to how awful she is.

I can vividly remember the exact point I stopped watching Quinton reviews. His video was sponsored by Dollar Shave Club. Anyone who has seen Quinton, knows he doesn't fucking shave. I don't even remember which video it even was. This was also the reason I refuse to even consider using Dollar Shave Club.

Music reactors, though I’m not too ashamed of watching them since there are some good ones still out there.

In the case of reacting to rap music, so called music critics like Shawn Cee, BigQuint and Meami for example seem harmless after first review, but after the 2016 election and last year’s riots in 2020, they all started to try to join the bandwagon and tried to show how much they love rap music that wants to engage with the “woke” side of how it should be.

Granted they’re not full blown social justice warrior-tier cringeworthy, but some of their videos (even Meami recently defending Travis Scott for his disasterous Astroworld Fest as if he did nothing wring) make me really question if they like the music or the image of what the music represents:

For Shawn cee, it was another clickbait video about Kendrick dropping, and those "the problem videos" were pretty shit.

It also doesn’t help that Hasan Piker off all people thought Shawn Cee was enlightened:

I‘m not sure most of today’s fans of rap music are even aware, but I don’t think they’d fit in with the mold of what rich socialists represent.

I used to watch Grav3yardgirl a fair amount. I wasn't invested in her as a person but her videos amused me.

THEN came the Starbucks drama, about 3 years ago now.

From what I recall she had been going through SB drivethrough and getting drinks, then going back through multiple times a day getting free refills. Eventually an employee told her to stop that, as free refills were supposed to be for dining area only.

Millionaire youtuber threw a gigantic Karen fit, complete with calls to corporate and making vlogs about it. Pretty sure the best videos were deleted, and golly did Bunny go after any channels discussing what happened. Threats were made by youtube if clips from grav3yardgirl's videos were used, and the "Swamp Fam" was sent like a swarm of bitchy locusts to attack anyone talking about it. At least that's what happened at first, I searched for 'grav3yardgirl starbucks' and there are several videos talking about it.

Here's one with a clip of what I'm talking about. I wish my computer wasn't a potato so I could archive all this shit, but hopefully other people did it already, because it was such a surprising reaction from a usually nice acting person.

I can't watch any of Bunny's stuff anymore, not product review videos, not her Banana Peppers vlog channel, nothing. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth now.

Wow. I remember watching her back in the day; now she's a full blown e-thot selling makeup and doing stupid box opening videos.

Bunny back in the day:

Didn't he flirt with suicide over the Change the Channel bullshit? Seems like you should have quit watching him long before that.

I don't even know why I was watching this faggot in the first place, I guess because some of his science experiments were pretty interesting, but when he jumped on the EAT BUGS bandwagon, I unsubbed and I haven't seen any of his videos since then until now. (I had to do a lot of searching just because I couldn't even remember what the channel was called).

Something like that.
Quinton blindly believed the entire document which you could argue helped cause him to get into the position he is in today, where he changed his style of reviewing from being a sort of angry reviewer with skits to a wanna-be breadtuber. The document really did break his psyche.

When Game Grumps got Danny instead of Jontron

For me it was when Arin got pissy at a fan for daring to try and help Danny understand the badge system in Paper Mario: TYD.

Speaking of Jontron though I stopped watching Continue? PeanutButterGamer and Projared after they all threw him under the bus over the destiny debate.

PushingUpRoses when she uploaded two videos about her mental health back-to-back, then complained about losing subscribers.

She's such a fucking tool. I don't have anything to add besides that.

Stopped watching YourMovieSucksDOTorg and Ralphthemoviemaker around the same time.
Started with Ralph, his skits started to become really cringey and he tries so hard to come across as a serious pretentious film reviewer, always making sure his alcohol bottles are in frame because 'Oooh the state of cinema! Gonna need a drink after this one, am I right guys?' but then he gets on Sardonicast (the podcast with the three of em) and his true colors really come out, that of a whiney and insecure young man that will easily change his opinion and can barely speak up for himself. None of the other guys take him seriously and often mock him or make him think twice and he gets all moody and quiet.

With YMS it was when he dismissed males competing against females in sports (politics + gay furry = always gonna be a bad time) and debated Null on what counts as animal abuse when it comes to zoophilia.. but there is already a thread on him here at the farms which has mostly everything.

The video where Mutahar apologized to Ethan Klein. Sickening. Also AVGN when he became a lifeless boring shell of his former self. I unironically started watching the Nostalgia Critic when working on stuff because it seems like he stopped doing the skits in his new stuff and he is actually passionate about talking stuff unlike AVGN.

With Ralph, it's clear he took quite a bit of inspiration from angry reviewers like NC and Spoony. He acted a bit like an angry reviewer but structured his videos to be more like a video essay. He just went downhill when his attempt to go to Hollywood didn't work out and his Joker video got a significant amount of backlash. At this point Ralph looks like he's going down the same path as Spoony with the videos having less effort while being worse, and his physical appearance gradually going to shit.

stopped watching kitten lady when she brought home a duckling and referred to it as "Our non binary duckling." and gave it a "gender neutral" name. Look as commendable as her actions are, the second you start using current year terms like "non binary," around me unironically? We have nothing to say to each other.

I rewatched Ralph's bigfoot show and ghost show videos recently. I don't believe in bigfoot or ghosts either, but with the amount of apoplectic shrieking from the boy, I thought he was going to run out and buy a fedora right then and there.

Not so much 'this is the video where I stopped' as 'what did I see in him in the first place'.

Used to watch Jim Sterling (he commentates on the tomfuckery video game companies/developers get up to). I gave up his content when he started getting political. The thing that ultimately drove me away was one of his outros where out of the blue he randomly said "trans women are women". No context or relation to what he was talking about in the video, he just randomly dropped it.

After that I unsubbed as I'm not a fan of people mixing politics/social issues/etc with entertainment

When I unsubscribed this is what Jim looked like:

Now here's a look at current Jim and his its friend:

For obvious reasons his channel has been tanking hard ever since:

Exactly the same here. Whatever he’s morphed into now, there is no denying he had some really funny output (especially his annual top 10s), and his investigative videos were often very well researched.

I got a bit tired of his backyard wrestling schtick, but that was OK. Then he started mouthing off about Trump (natch), and Brexit. So we had a liberal games YouTuber. Fine, I persisted through gritted teeth.

The last straw for me was when he waded into the BLM chimpout excuse cause. I walked away, unsubbed, and never looked back; and judging by his subsequent troon-out spectacular, it looks like I jettisoned this scumcunt at just the right time.

I stopped watching Nexpo after the Walten Files video. Didn't even watch it, lol.

I used to really like CGP Grey. His video on AI was really cool. But... the last 2 years his videos were really boring. That Tiffany video made me unsubscribe.
I stopped watching him after the stupid-ass Rabb.it video which was literally just him talking about his own internet drama for like 40 minutes.

Sorry, guy, the only person I will listen to talk about their interactions with crazy ladies on the internet is Janny Jersh.

I have stopped watching him regularly because his content was really repetitive and served up no solutions. What broke the camel's back for me was the Channel Awesome tier """humor""".

I think commenting on the Entertainment industry is pretty much a doomed. premise. You have zero ways to influence it so you will just cry from the sidelines (for a living). No wonder those people either burn out or go nuts eventually.

Not to mention, It clearly shows that even if you had a good start you need to grow. Not in weight and bad lifestyle decisions but as a content creator. But at least his Twitter friends will give him dopamine points. (just god forbid he tweets something non mainstream and his entire social life will vanish overnight. lol)
