The IOC hs come out with new sports guidelines and commenters are still trying to figure out the implications.
It appears the IOC does not assume trans women have any advantage over women in sports, so until large scale peer reviewed studies show otherwise, trans women should be able to compete...now without even needing to lower testosterone!
I am trying to picture what organization wants to do such a study. They will get protested, attempts to be cancelled, blue haired workers walking out, etc.
It is sort of weird no one is surprised the concern is about testosterone in trans women giving any kind of advantage. Why on earth would any sane person come to that conclusion?
Why is the IOC not concerned about advantages of excess estrogen produced by trans men giving THEM an advantage?
The IOC is placing inclusion above fairness and safety (for women). But this also appears to not be set in stone rules wise, but individual sport federations are to come up with their own rules, so they just kicked the can down the road a bit.
Oh, and women competing do not have be told they are competing against a trans woman. That would be intrusive and rude, you see.
I am soooooo sad Veronica Ivy is not tweeting right now. This was his life's dream. Since trans women are women, they should not have to do anything, including reducing testosterone, to compete. But he let himself go so much. He can probably compete against a few grannies in weight lifting, tho.
I can easily see high school coaches more actively scouting for trans athletes to give them an edge, which will result in fewer trained women athletes for college sports and the Olympics.

The report summarizes findings from 1,608 transgender women surveyed in seven cities.
HIV prevalence by city was 58% in Atlanta, 33% in Los Angeles, 45% in New Orleans, 52% in New York City, 51% in Philadelphia, 41% in San Francisco and 21% in Seattle. Overall, 89% reported visiting a health care provider for HIV care in the past six months and 90% reported using antiretroviral therapy.
Only 32% of participants without HIV reported using pre-exposure prophylaxis, as recommended by CDC clinical guidelines.
