This almost never happens though. Prosecutors are absolute pieces of shit (Rekieta mode on) and routinely do shit like this any time they get the chance. And nothing happens. They do it over and over. Look up the West Memphis Three.

Look at the Chauvin trial. The prosecution pulled all this shit and worse. And apparently he's going to spend his life behind bars because he CAN'T AFFORD to appeal. Because that shit is all about money.

The only major public case I can think of in recent memory, "recent" memory being before probably some (underage b&) posters to this site were even born, was Mike Nifong, the absolute piece of shit who prosecuted the fabricated Duke Lacrosse team case, where some groid falsely accused the entire team of raping her, which was some shit that never happened.

That guy got disbarred and even spent a tiny bit of time in jail.
