All these tattoos show her inability to regulate herself. Want more food? Eat it. Want more booze/weed? Go for it. Want to dump her oldest forever and leave her youngest kid alone for another week? It’s her life. Want more ink in an already covered body that can’t handle it smoothly? Why not? She wants it.

She’s never stopped herself from doing something she feels like doing in her entire life. Things that are responsible? That’s another story.

She may very well hold the assumption that "he's a good kid, he knows that's only for Mommy." Many garbage parents have attitudes like this. He's mature, so he should know not to poison himself. No need to put in anymore effort than that.
Having worked housekeeping at a hotel the regularly has kids' sports teams, it's all too common for parents to just leave booze sitting around the room they're sharing with their kids.

What’s the deal with them?
Corissa bought a last chance house she can’t comfortably live in, and got a sizeable tattoo right after it.
J got insight that Corissa bought a house she can’t function at all in, and got a sizeable tattoo right after it.
Tess running out of everything, it seems, got narc boo-boo, and got a sizeable tattoo right after it.

Is this some kind of pleasurable self-harm? I know, eating yourself past “detach feces from anus without device” is a self-harm on its own, but really. Let me scratch that itch with needles and I feel good about myself right now, without thinking about literal tomorrow? Adding a little variety to coping mechanisms tool box, next to single “eat your feelings away”?

Reckon if Anna was down to earth enough to get a tattoo, she would be a harlequin today.

Need rent money so badly you're hocking all your clothes? TIME TO GET YET ANOTHER TATTOO!

I wonder if Tess realizes that the more tats she gets, the less work she'll get? Most companies don't want someone with lots of ink distracting from their clothes, except the very few fringe ones that cater to that tatted fatty market.

I mean tattooing does feature a dopamine release because any painful experience does. It's painful enough that the body releases it's natural painkiller but obviously not as painful as like breaking a leg. Ancient peoples used to tattoo over painful areas for this very reason.

I do think some people get addicted to the dopamine rush just like people get addicted to similar rushes from exercise or extreme sports. For fats it let's them get that dopamine hit they'd be way better off seeking through working out through a passive experience.
