Too many streams tonight for me to check out her Heavy Rain, but I watched her fairy tale stream yesterday (half from a "wtf is this even supposed to be?", and half because of her great character design) and was very pleasantly surprised.

The idea was to read fairy tales (like the Grimm ones everyone knows) and "judge" the crimes committed therein... but she somehow made that interesting and funny. Really like her voice too.

Finding their address, harrassing them (or their relatives/friends), and stalking them are definitely out-of-line. Just finding a publicly available picture from the past is pretty tame and not much to get worked up over. If you think that is so weird and out-of-line that you can't handle it, I'm sorry to say, but I think you might be in the wrong place.

Some people want to totally buy into the character and live in the dream world where they are their ideal anime waifu who poofed into existence from nothingness. That's fine if that is what you want, and pretty much what HL and others are trying to sell. Personally, I find it interesting to actually know a little more about the person and who they are, who they were, and where they came from. It helps me appreciate them more.

I've never understood the whole "keep it seeekreeeet." shit. If it's a 1 to 2 minute google search for "Coco's real face" then it's the same for Antis. the cat ripped open the bag and pissed all over it. Same with Holomyth and pretty much any Tuba not named Pippa.

Now as an eternally autistic fan of professional wrestling there is some bleed over here. It even manifests in shit like Holofightz. But the basic idea is you have Kayfabe. The idea that in pro wrestling, no matter what people actually know you need to act like Pro Wrestling is a real sport. And the undead zombie warlock man is absolutely coming to steal the soul of his half demon brother who miraculously recovered from being burned alive as a child and having his voice box destroyed to becoming IRL Mayor of Knoxville. You suspend your disbelief and watch what is in front of you. You enjoy it for what it is.

I'm bringing this up because a big problem in wrestling right now is that it's infested with wrestlers and fans who are redditors who think they're so smart because they don't follow Kayfabe. They constantly point out how fake and retarded everything is and how you shouldn't take it seriously. It's frustrating enough when fans do it. But when wrestlers knowingly break character so they can do silly immersion breaking shit for their own ego it becomes aggravating. Can you imagine how shitty Game of Thrones season 1 would have been if after executing that one guy in the first episode Sean bean looked directly in the camera. Pulled the most soy of soy expressioned and exclaimed

"Hehe I really got that other actor good. Look at how good I, actor Sean Bean am at executing people on this dumb fantasy show."

We KNOW it's all a show. You don't need to remind us. And now I'm not immersed anymore ffs. Now imagine the same thing happening with V tubers.

We suspend our disbelief. We are not seeing Karen formerly known as Demondice play a cartoon character. We are seeing Caliope Mori. A reaper of souls who has now taken up V Tubing for our entertainment. Makes perfect sense to me. People got annoyed with Mori because she chased other You Tubers like the Trash Taste people and other E Celebs. It breaks that immersion. And Mori at the time seemed to care more about advancing her own career than actually BEING a V tuber. Then you have shit like Coco graduating and going back to Kson. But we can't ever talk about her being Coco ever again.

TL/DR: We KNOW it's a IRL woman playing a chinese cartoon character. Just let us be immersed. But also understand we are allowed to KNOW about publicly findable info. And talk about it amongst ourselves.

This plus the similar voice seals it for me. The acc is fairly wiped but one thing I remember is she was following with Dottovu (Kronii) They've been tagged a few times together along with other VAs.

It seems at one point she shared face pics but none I can find.

We are talking about the problem with some exceptional individual trying to feed those personal info "not exactly doxxing" in to the talents social media face. It's like that people who dig up Gigguk photo and his real name from Facebook or some shit and share it on twitter. It's invasive and disrespectful, even if it isn't illegal. If anyone care to learn more about the performer, it's their choice to look it up and search for it. Tagging the official art tag of the art traced from her photo from years ago is definitely an autistic act, and doesn't worth defending.

No that is what you are talking about and putting words into my mouth. I was simply responding to someone who said those pictures should never be seen/found and even posting them here in a semi-private forum, totally separate entity from the vtuber/corp, was "out-of-line". OF COURSE basically pasting the picture onto a "realistic drawing" of Gura, putting it in a public place like twitter (that is pretty much their main non-youtube form of communication), and then directly tagging her on top of it is incredibly stupid. I didn't defend that and never will.
