I disagree that weight surgery is “an easy way out”, but for Alex it’s indeed a too easy way out. She’s her own example why surgeries don’t work if you don’t work, yet here we are; bless us with thinness, magic scalpel.

She already had a gastric band age 16, that didn’t work. Then she got a tummy tuck when she was still obese, that didn’t work. Wonder what the chance of success for this one is?

This story of hers rubs me the wrong way. She went to Red Robin and went shopping for clothing, for Christ's sake. Does she seriously think the calorie counts on menus don't also set off thinner people with EDs? Or that people with EDs don't obsess over things like their bodies touching the table, or have issues finding clothing?

Nothing but first world problems. Some people have to worry about paying bills or getting Christmas gifts for their kids and you're whining about numbers on a menu or Target not having 12XL underwear.

Anyway, she limits comments on her Instagram, but her “therapy center” is on there as @radicaltherapycenter. Comments not limited there and it says a lot of the same stupid shit as her personal page.

She also has a few TikToks up at @thefats3xtherapist. Her family looks so normal, I just...how did this happen?

I just don’t get it. I know you guys hate PL’ing, but I lived with desis before (I think that covers immigrants from India/Pakistan/Bangladesh etc., that’s their general term). I can’t imagine a family of that background and how they feel about their relative.

Wait, I kind of can. This is a very networked minority group. The people I lived with knew of and gossiped about her. I’ll keep it short but it was never anything nice. Sonalee is so out there that being...what she is...has actually affected her family’s social standing.

You don't get much choice on your mustache in the Army. They have strict regulations: it can't go over lip and can't go horizontally past the mouth. I also doubt that he can really grow a decent stache and I bet he gets it cut on base by someone who doesn't care.

What does Lizzo have to be sad about exactly? She has money, connections and way more freedom than any of her sycophant fans. If it's because no man wants her due to her weight, tough shit. Her peers CardiB, Megan and Doja all slimmed down once they made it big because they know that a healthy body is what sells.

In her specific genre of music, you better have a sexy body or you better be funny as shit to keep a people talking about you and Lizzo is no Missy Elliot so she better get to losing some weight. All these articles about her showing her gargantuan ass in ill fitting clothing, and generally being trashy in public is a PR nightmare and no amount of "I'm sad because people make fun of my weight" can save that.

I dont think shes doing as well, as she likes us to believe. Her music isnt doing so good and spotify really underpays artists. A lot of concerts has been cancelled bc of the cove and her attempt at drumming up support for her "brand" by being a gross and nasty, is not really working. So her career is probably running out of steam bc shes not gonna loose the weight and do a glow up.

Definitely NOT "an easy way out", but early weightloss is definitely far easier than dieting without the surgery. She'll lose a shitloads of weight very quickly, progressively slowing down over the initial 18 months, then back on it will all go....Why...because she's not taking any ownship for being a super morbidly obese fat slob to begin with. It's genetics...bullshit, and medication...possible to a point but will having gastric bypass mean she can stop the medication? It's your food/drink choices Alex, and until you accept that and change your lifestyle completely, you'll fail this as well.

PS...these days you don't "blow through stitches" (in fact it's always been staples you blow out after WLS), because the staplers they use set 6-8 offset rows of staples with the cut line being in the middle.

I remember when I first run into Sonalee a few years ago I was 100% sure that she was a troll, because her posts, pictures etc. were just too perfect. The posts she makes are approaching total gibberish and she is the master of false connections and misunderstanding - she's the FA equivalent of what Paul Krugman is for economics. Whenever you read anything by Sonalee, it checks the box of every possible obesity acceptance advocate and then blows it over the top. I remember one time she went to India and was upset how people were so fatphobic towards her. Apparently she was unaware that even if starvation isn't really an issue in India anymore, the country still suffers from roughly 20% undernourishment (and I'm not using the term the way FAs are) and everyone living in the country knows this, so of course people are going to react badly on Sonalee who has the same daily caloric intake as a small village. I also remember with warmth her lectures on how refusing to date fat people is not a sexual preference, but outright racism (or even genocide if I recall correctly, because this stops fat people from reproducing which therefore is genocide) - the whole thing reads like a troll! If you look at her IG, she states how her preferred pronouns are "they/he", which again is totally over the top to the level of perfection, as she is obviously female. What's so fascinating and thrilling about these hippopotamuses is the combination of enragement towards their audacity and stupidity, but also the absolute hilarity you get from reading their arguments, seeing their cluelessness and witnessing their total privilege that they claim is in fact oppression. Sonalee truly is one of a kind!
