God this trial truly is a metaphor in America for current year. A riotous mob torches a city, gets covered for by the media who calls for the public lynching of someone who had to defend their own life in the riot. Some working class kid. I'd be real pissed if I was one of the not guilty voters and realized this Karen took home the jury instructions to Google any possible way to charge Kyle with something.

This reeks of the 40 year old "academic" bringing it home to make a speech and using academic connections to work out some pathway of guilt.

It's unlikely to have majority guilty just based on the facts of the case, law and evidence are on Kyle's side. More reasons to assume that majority would be NG.
And Karen type is most likely to ignore all of that.

Shit like this is why if I'm ever charged with anything, I'll take a judge over a jury. I know in some places you can choose.

People are stupid and easily swayed by the media and social media. I'd rather take my chances with one judge.

Can you imagine being on trial in Chicago? The odds are that 10 out of the 12 are going to be fat Basketball American women with weaves and pants that say "JUICY".

It would really depend on whether your case is political, or specifically whether journalists are after you, juries should be fine in a normal trial. Bence trial can backfire on you if the judge has an opinion on what you did.
