Its hard to believe that Western Europe was using the Death Penalty about half a century ago, then stopped doing it.

Apparently the death penalty in this nation was banned by SCOTUS and Im sure you were alive for that lol before it got reversed again.

I really don't know what has caused many nations to end the death penalty but I have a feeling its linked to the death of religion, the hedonism as a result of the benefits of technology and the nation's leaders over time just becoming degraded.

Yep, you can always release someone from jail if it's found that they were wrongfully imprisoned, but you can't un-execute someone.

That is true and something to be taken into consideration. Allowing a fair trial and search for the truth if someone committed a murder. On the other hand, a clear cut case like Anders Brevik or Brandon Tarrant, politics aside, are clear cut cases for folks who get tried and then get the noose.

I guess we will never get a clear answer on how to properly proceed in a death penalty case but the idea of 20 year long plus appeals for keeping folks on death row is insane and at the same time, folks getting railroaded by eager prosecutors as the Kyle trial has shown is immoral as well.

Folks like Charles Mansen and other proven serial killers should have gotten the noose when it was proven they are murderors though iirc Mansen is alive because California abolished the Death Penalty at the time.

Some nations take it to the extreme by current western standards and will hang drug dealers, something that all those war on drugs boomercon supporters don't have the stomach for.

I am not familiar with Roman Catholics opposing the death penalty. As far as the Orthodox, Russia still uses the death penalty though I doubt Greece or Ukraine still use it.

6 months ago I told people to compare him with himself 6 months prior too. And now 6 months later he is visibly even worse.


Mid term campaigning starts in ~6 weeks. They want Biden to go and support their candidates? Just fucking extrapolate, how much worse will he be in 6-9 months when the campaigns are in full swing.

It's technically still on the books, but the moratorium on using it has indefinite duration and the courts do not have the power to issue this kind of sentence. People were clamoring to have it repealed at least for terrorists, but no luck.
