That’s interesting (although note that larger blood vessels do have their own smooth muscle tissue that regulates their tone; skeletal muscle is just part of an overall extremely complicated system). Thing is, a lot of venous return is controlled by the nervous system. Maybe more knowledgeable medfags can speculate on what might happen when you take the little nerves and vessels that think they’re in an arm and put them in something that hangs down all day and doesn’t move?

This is just the first surgery in a series of 2-3, or more, depending on the surgeon and if there were any complications with the first step, which seem to be extremely common. With the complications that this person has had so far, it looks even less like a penis than some others might at this stage because they literally had to cut the tip off when she got a blood clot and almost lost the entire thing. Usually the next surgical stage is creating the fake glans and lengthening the urethra in an attempt to allow for standing urination, and (again, depending on the surgeon and how the person heals) they add an erectile device as the final step. Some opt for medical tattooing as well. Still won't ever look or function like a real penis though, no matter how many procedures they do, and these people will never be happy. They'll always want to take things one step further, even when there is no logical next step available.

Sad and gross yet fascinating stuff.

penises are mostly composed of spongey erectile tissue that can increase and decrease the volume of the phallus dramatically depending on how much blood is in it. And nerves. And a much larger urethra than women have. The cross section of a dick is 2/3rds erectile tissue and 1/3 urethra, with some other smaller shit holding these three things together.

If dicks were mostly muscle it would be much easier to build one, the body has many muscles that could be moved around. Unfortunately the only similar erectile tissue in women is in their clitoris (most of it is actually inside and can't be moved around easily). There isn't a whole lot like it in other parts of the body. Thats why these people all just want to pee standing up, there is no hope for a functioning dick.

Its a surgical failure, and a screening failure in that the scars demonstrate that the patient has psychiatric comorbidities that should have prevented such a surgery, and it probably cost $200,000. A team of "medical experts" decided to do this. There are so many levels of failure that any degree of competency on the part of our medical or political elites would have prevented this from ever happening. But it happened. we have photographic evidence.

Until the uterus/ovaries are out she could still have kids. Pretty sure she hasn’t had the vaginal canal closed up either- I think. Pretty sure they don’t do that until after the uterus is removed too, I would think it would increase the chance of pyometria

I mean I've had a vasectomy and it swells a lot and was painful but either these surgeons lack the stitching and clean field techniques to keep a wound sterile and closed which many decent nurses have, or they're all managing to screw up something else despite wildly different techniques

This is way out of my limited medical expertise but not much. The system is complicated as hell but they aren't going to misfire. I'm pretty sure as long as they are connected to the bloodstream and the CNS they are going to operate as normal.
