General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Admittedly I haven't followed your discussion with Nolan so I don't know what you two have been talking about, but this is a crazy thing to say unless you're only referring to the amount of pictures leaked for some reason. Gura had everything about her leaked early on, including her full name and address - resulting in people tracking her down and harassing her IRL. Additionally, people found and contacted her family members on Facebook. As for Ina, she has posted pictures of herself on social media before - including things that would make the gachikoi recoil.

And with that same info, and tidbits of info she has given on both members and drawing streams, particulary mentioning ane'nis and her have gone to basically to the same schools since they were children, we can find an Agnes Kwoon who went to Calgary University,

RIP, no more Nijisanji doxxing after this then?

I'm tired and my brain is melting, but isn't it safe to assume this is only applicable to Japan because that's where they have any degree of influence? Nijisanji's most comprehensive archive of past lives and personal details - even for EN members - is a Japanese website.

This is the same country - and same industry - that just forced Yakumo Beni onto a 5-week suspension for 'destroying the public image and integrity of Japanese eSports' because she played Ranked VALORANT with a Pro player. The Japanese, by and large, will keel over to scare tactics alone because the repercussions of even tiny mistakes can be frightening.

@One Quick Post I can't respond directly to you, but I appreciate you bringing up the Japanese law so I didn't have to.

In regards to V-Tubers being a public figure or not, it's not nearly as clear cut as you'd expect. We saw something similar in the Mignogna vs. Funimation case, where Vic Mignogna argued that he wasn't a public figure because the large majority of the population wouldn't recognise him, and those within the anime community would be more likely to recognise the characters he lends his voice to rather than him specifically. Similarly, you could argue that, for example, 'Sena Howard' isn't a public figure because she's discretely lending her voice to a popular character, and therefore you'd have to assume truth isn't a defence going into it.

The cost of legal aid to even argue that what you're doing is in the public interest of the Japanese people, and that the plaintiff is a public figure, is likely going to cost more than the maximum ¥500K penalty, and the state's 99% conviction rate exists for a reason. AnyColor win this exchange basically every time if it reaches that point.

You could argue about the ethics and limitations of these laws, and I'd be inclined to agree that it's disgustingly skewed, but the fact of the matter remains that fear of repercussions are as strong as the repercussions themselves.

Wasn't there a video of her graduation or something? Or did I mistake it for something else?

so, what are the chances of cali getting a full team wipe during her NUZLOCKE run?
Low, low, incredibly low. BDSP has no cap on Affection buffs so even keeping any mons on the team for a period of time will let them have high chances to evade, shake of staus effects and survive moves that would kill them, not to mention first time through the fights, they are pretty easy and some have had their movepools nerfed. Rematch teams are harder, but you won't hit them in a nuzlocke.

ahh, was looking forward for suffering.

Probably. The statement itself is basically just a translation of one made in Japanese quite a while ago. I think they're basically just now telling EN, ID, and KR fans "here, this exists" even if it's unlikely to be able to actually do anything outside of Japan.

KEK, if a crazy bitch with a hateboner, multiple other crazies suing, and an entire fucking government couldn't make null budge, im certain a bunch of chinks with a keyboard an erection and some bloodsucking lawyers aren't gonna do shit either.

A bit late, but has the facedoxx been spread around outside of this site? I've been wondering how influential this thread is on the info and discussion about VChuubas roommates. I know people on /vt/ does read this thread, but is there anyone else besides them? And how much people believe new info posted here?
I checked the vt board under the her specific thread and they only mentioned the yab in passing, arguing that showing folders will lead to a dox like Fauna (?), which technically they were right. Who knew that a Russian search engine would index it? So outside of this site, at least on the searchable web, not yet. Maybe in discords but unknown, on the YouTube face reveal channels which are the lowest of the low (because of the algorithms work), haven't posted anything either to the best of my knowledge.

DeepL version

Edit: Likely superior fan translation
Nene is such a sweetie! Even when giving out serious updates like this she shows her peppy, upbeat side!
>Special Task Force
Leaked footage of them infiltrating and raiding the Farms:
Lol! But yes, I honestly don't think they are even thinking about hitting here, not like there would be any compliance lol!

They're probably with the schizos and Pokas out there in mind, we are small fry next to them!

Precisely, they are basically limited to Japan and services like YouTube, anything else requires putting in money and effort to get the legal team on march!

I've got a buddy whose parents are ex-pat-Chinese. Fled, essentially and are the equivalent of Miami Cubans for Asia. Something like that?
It goes back further. The ones I know are the result of at least two generations, often more, born and raised in some random SEA country and not the mainland. Mama rat sounds like one of these who moved to Australia, which is quite common.

I've always wanted someone to break down the hints of accents some of the other members have. Nene, Suisei, Watame, Rushia and Fubuki have little quirks to their pronunciation that the others don't, and it makes me wonder if I'm hearing a regional accent or if it's just mannerisms they have. I get the impression a lot of people in Japan try to train themselves to iron out their accents and businesses like Cover encourage them to.

Could you say what those quirks are? I can't speak Japanese so I'm no help, but these things are fun to listen for.

I've seen several clips of EN saying they miss Kronii, but I don't remember any clips of them saying they miss Sana. Am I mistaken or is this Sana hate / apathy.?
No animosity towards her, even more so considering Ina is a friend of hers. Maybe it's just because they couldn't spend much time together considering she took a long break right after her debut and just came back pretty recently!
