General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

i think it's kinda worth noting at this point that it was not sena howard who'd posted her own pic, it was her game company, there's a difference. i can't seem to find the company page anymore but it did exist prior to people actually finding the pic there, but alas, i don't want to carry this on longer than it should. i think some of you guys got things mixed up at some point and i had to clarify, not that it matters much.

also looking through the lolcow threads to see if i remembered shit wrong, this made me laugh

@Takodachi did a great write up a while back - https://kiwifarms.net/threads/virtual-youtubers.69525/post-7764153

The first clue was someone remembering a sub-1000 view or something Kickstarter video on YouTube and I guess that's how it all began? Or the connection was made a long time ago with her roommate's channel. I think at this point a history book would be nice because there is so much out there.

Anyway, my point is that Gura's dox isn't special or bad by any metric. If I had to pick an EN girl who was the hardest done by I'd pick Ina, to my knowledge her facedox was based on posts by her family members and not by her own posts.
Admittedly I haven't followed your discussion with Nolan so I don't know what you two have been talking about, but this is a crazy thing to say unless you're only referring to the amount of pictures leaked for some reason. Gura had everything about her leaked early on, including her full name and address - resulting in people tracking her down and harassing her IRL. Additionally, people found and contacted her family members on Facebook. As for Ina, she has posted pictures of herself on social media before - including things that would make the gachikoi recoil.

Yeh we were talking about facedox specifically, I probably should have written 'facedox' in every instance but I was getting lazy. I wouldn't argue that the shit that happened with Gura's family was normal, that would be retarded.

It is kinda funny to hear Selen genuinely dread it. Kinda makes me wonder how boomer the EN management is to think this is content worth making, wasn't Noor part of it for at least some time? One of the Nijis definitely mentioned she was one of the audition interviewers, at least.

Noor was very specifically assisting in the hiring process for what we now know as LazuLight and Obsydia and that's it. She's had no creative influence on production or anything, and likely wasn't around to assist with Ethyria (at least, no one brought her up).

But yeah, it does seem the manager is a creative boomer. Selen and Pomu have both mentioned that she is a stained glass artist who often shows her works on Slack, but Selen in particular has had interactions like rebuking the manager's recommendation to play Roblox due to its metrics. I also have the rrat that this upcoming MK8 tournament may have been intended as a Battle Mode tournament but is now going to include racing.

NijiScenario feels like it's coming from the JP side though. The pacing and jokes are very Japanese, and I believe they get subtitled. Someone like Selen who is so inherently Anti-cringe is obviously going to take issue with scripted content.

Will be sad to lose that channel, it's nice to have every song in a playlist

oh that fucking sucks, I wonder why they're doing this, surely Cover should be free from any problems since they arent the ones hosting it and the girls always seemed pretty happy with their singing not being lost to the void
it looks like it's only the EN branch that are doing this, no problems for the similar channel for jps songs

Finana mentioned that Noor was involved in her interview. That would have been before Noor's graduation. We have no idea whether Noor is still employed by Anycolor or not, but based on various hints I would guess that Noor is not the EN manager. EN manager is most likely a Japanese woman who is fluent in English but doesn't really fully understand English humor.

They did put out an audition for EN content writers. I guess they didn't find anyone they liked and just went with Japanese writers. The audition was very brief so it doesn't surprise me.
Scripted short videos do seem like an area that Nijisanji is pretty hit and miss. The snack time animated videos on the JP side are pretty mediocre and scenario is just bad. ID's scripted videos on the other hand are quite funny.

RIP, no more Nijisanji doxxing after this then?
No? They can't mandate a US website to stop doing things that aren't against US law. Maybe they will succeed where the mountain Jews failed. But I doubt they would bother with us.
Lol fucking nips, good fucking luck trying to enforce anything in the US.

ANYCOLOR Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Riku Tazumi) (hereinafter, referred to as “ANYCOLOR” or the “Company”) has established a special task force to combat threatening behavior such as stalking, defamation or other abusive behavior on the Internet (hereinafter, referred to as the “Task Force”) in September 2020 for the purpose of protecting the rights of Virtual Livers and entertainers/affiliated with the Company and our employees (hereinafter, comprehensively referred to as the “Entertainer” or “Entertainers”) from the said behavior.
Fans learning of such behavior against the Entertainers are requested to report the behavior using the links below.

English: https://www.anycolor.co.jp/en/report
Japanese: https://www.anycolor.co.jp/report

Establishment of the Task Force

Under the philosophy of “A New Magical Experience,” we are working hard to deliver content to be loved by all fans through our wide array of businesses, which are greatly supported by the Entertainers.

In this background, ANYCOLOR cannot overlook the situation in which the Entertainers have become unable to focus on their activities with peace of mind due to suffering caused from threatening behavior, slander, and other abusive behavior.

Therefore, ANYCOLOR established the Task Force in September 2020, and we have firmly dealt with threatening behavior, slander, and other abusive behavior against the Entertainers.

Formulation of the Guidelines

ANYCOLOR formulated and shared the guidelines for Entertainers with the Entertainers in order to clarify our responses when there are any incidences of threatening behavior, slander, or other abusive behavior toward the Entertainers.

■ Target Behavior
ANYCOLOR has been taking various countermeasures including legal action against the following threatening behavior, slander, and other abusive behavior.

● Threatening behaviors
Threatening behavior refers to the following acts against Entertainers:
- Acts of stalking or ambush
- Acts of demanding meetings, dates, etc.
- Significantly uncouth or violent acts
- Acts of making silent phone calls and/or repeated phone calls and/or repeatedly sending emails or messages on social media, etc.
- Acts of sending filthy matter, items that evoke sexual shame, and/or items that cause feelings of fear
- Acts of notifying the intent to harm the life, body, freedom, honor, or assets of an Entertainer
- Acts of defamation
- Acts of violating privacy
- Acts of damaging financial credit
- Any and all other acts that can harm Entertainers and ANYCOLOR

● Slander
Slander refers to acts of posting contents that infringe on the honor, privacy, thoughts, faith, and any other rights or interests of Entertainers on the internet.

■ Specific Measures
ANYCOLOR takes measures centered around the following three key items against threatening behavior, slander, and other abusive behavior under the leadership of the Task Force.

● Establishment of consultation/reporting contact
ANYCOLOR has established a consultation/reporting contact for threatening behavior, slander, and other abusive behavior targeting Entertainers. We accept reporting not only from Entertainers but also from fans. Therefore, we appreciate reporting from those who become aware of threatening behavior, slander, or other abusive behavior toward Entertainers to our consultation/reporting contact. (Fans are requested to report via the online form on the web page: https://www.anycolor.co.jp/en/report)

● Relief measures for Entertainers suffering from harm
In the event of any threatening behavior, slander, or other abusive behavior targeting Entertainers, ANYCOLOR mainly implements the following relief measures for the victims.
(1) Provision of mental care by an industrial physician
(2) Measures to prevent the transmission of information which falls under slander on the internet
(3) Accompanying the victims to the police station by the Task Force member(s)
(4) Reinforcement of security

● Measures to pursue liability of the individual(s) at fault
ANYCOLOR implements the following measures to pursue the liability of the individual(s) at fault for threatening behavior, slander, or other abusive behavior. According to the nature of the case, ANYCOLOR takes action in cooperation with third parties including legal offices outside of the Company.
(1) Filing an incident report with the police
(2) Demanding information disclosure on the sender(s) from the internet provider, etc.
(3) Filing a claim for damages against the individual(s) at fault
(4) Directly contacting the individual(s) at fault by the Task Force when social media accounts, etc. of the individual(s) at fault are known

Task Force Activity Report (September 2021)

As the Task Force marked one year since establishment, the Task Force reported its activities as follows:

■ Number of Cases Handled
Approximately 90 cases for the year from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021

■ Types of Behavior Handled by the Task Force
Since September 2020, the Task Force has taken a wide variety of response measures for the following acts.
- Defamation
- Acts of infringement of privacy rights
- Acts of infringement of copyrights (such as use of characters for indecent intent)
- Threatening acts including death threats
- Acts of stalking, etc.

■ Outline of Implemented Measures
The measures taken by the Task Force are as follows:

1 For the infringement of rights on blog sites
The Task Force demanded the operators of the affiliate blog sites (including so-called roundup blog sites) delete articles containing acts of infringement on the honor or privacy rights of the Entertainers of ANYCOLOR (hereinafter, referred to as "the Entertainers") and prevent future similar infringement acts.

2 For the infringement of rights in social media
In social media starting with Twitter, the Task Force demanded individuals delete postings of content that infringes upon the honor or privacy rights of the Entertainers in social media accounts of the said individuals. At the same time, in preparation for cases in which the said individuals do not take any action, the Task Force reported the individual to the relevant social media operators on each occasion. In addition, the Task Force took the same action against individuals pretending to be the Entertainers and who made malicious postings in social media.

3 For the infringement of rights in internet bulletin boards
The Task Force demanded the operators of internet bulletin boards delete postings that can lead to defamation and infringement of the privacy rights of the Entertainers in internet bulletin boards.

4 For copyright infringement in the form of infringement on the honor of the Entertainers
For postings of character illustration and 3D model collages which were created in the form of damaging the honor of the Entertainers on video posting sites and internet bulletin boards, the Task Force demanded the operators of the relevant video posting sites or internet bulletin boards delete such content on the grounds of copyright infringement. In addition, the Task Force demanded the relevant advertisers or site operators delete any advertising using character illustrations of the Entertainers for adult sites or any other items without consent.

5 For the posting of videos that infringe on the rights of the Entertainers and ANYCOLOR
In regard to postings of videos that damage the honor of the Entertainers and ANYCOLOR on video posting platforms, the Task Force took action to have incident reports and letters of accusation accepted by the police in cooperation with our lawyers and the relevant police stations. For a malicious video posting in particular, the complaint was accepted as a criminal case for defamation and established as a prosecutable case.

6 For death threats
For threatening acts of harming the Entertainers including death threats, the Task Force immediately reported the acts to the relevant police station and implemented preventive measures including security arrangements for the Entertainers.

7 For acts of stalking
With respect to acts of stalking including following, ambushing, and one-directional and frequent contact toward the Entertainers, the Task Force reported the acts to the relevant police station and took actions to have restraining orders issued.

As detailed above, the Task Force has been taking a variety of measures against acts that infringe upon the honor, privacy rights, and any other rights of the Entertainers.
For malicious acts among the above-mentioned acts in particular, the Task Force is taking legal action including criminal complaints in cooperation with our lawyers and the relevant police stations.

Reporting on a daily basis through the report form of threatening behavior, slander, or other abusive behavior targeting Entertainers on ANYCOLOR’s corporate site allows us to immediately detect acts of infringement on the rights of the Company’s Entertainers. We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for your cooperation.

ANYCOLOR is working to create an environment where the Entertainers can work with peace of mind and will further enhance the system so we can continue offering A New Magical Experience to our fans.

This article is strange, it conflates a bunch of crimes with serious consequences with a bunch of shit they simply don't like, presumably to look intimidating, I guess?

Like, look what they start the guidelines with:
- Acts of stalking or ambush
- Acts of demanding meetings, dates, etc.
- Significantly uncouth or violent acts
- Acts of making silent phone calls and/or repeated phone calls and/or repeatedly sending emails or messages on social media, etc.
Sounds like serious shit, right? Like this "task force" exists to protect the talents from potentially violent stalkers. Which, maybe it does to some extent - but some of the later things are telling.

Let's look at this nonsense:
Slander refers to acts of posting contents that infringe on the honor, privacy, thoughts, faith, and any other rights or interests of Entertainers on the internet.
No, it doesn't. The fun thing about legal terms is they have important, well-founded definitions that even if you're a dumbass non-lawyer from another country like me, you can easily research. Slander has nothing to do with "posting contents that infringe on someone's honor, privacy, thoughts, faith..." what the fuck are you even saying?

Slander falls under the tort of defamation and is specifically spoken defamation. Since you're talking about posting things you mean libel, but that's just me being a pedantic fucker. What isn't pedantic, is that you're full of shit:
To prove prima facie defamation, a plaintiff must show four things: 1) a false statement purporting to be fact; 2) publication or communication of that statement to a third person; 3) fault amounting to at least negligence; and 4) damages, or some harm caused to the person or entity who is the subject of the statement.
Source

Look at the difference between these two things, one is literally publishing false information about someone that you know is untrue and is not an opinion, which must lead to actual damages, and the other is "infringing on someone's faith" or some shit. People can say your Islamic ID talents follow a garbage heathen religion created by a pedophile all day and there's nothing you can do to stop them, unless those people live in Kekistan in which case their government is going to go get the rope and some stones.

But what about in Japan? Well:
Article 230. (Defamation)
(1) A person who defames another by alleging facts in public shall, regardless of whether such facts are true or false, be punished by imprisonment with or without work for not more than 3 years or a fine of not more than 500,000 yen.
Source

Both interesting and gross that Japanese defamation laws normally don't even require the facts alleged actually be false. However:

Article 230-2. (Special Provision for Matters Concerning Public Interest)
(1) When an act proscribed under paragraph 1 of the preceding Article is found to relate to matters of public interest and to have been conducted solely for the benefit of the public, the truth or falsity of the alleged facts shall be examined, and punishment shall not be imposed if they are proven to be true
Source

I would think online entertainers that intentionally put themselves in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers fall under "public interest" but who knows. Regardless, either way it doesn't match their own definition, even in Japan.

So, what has this task force even done then? Well...
The Task Force demanded the operators of the affiliate blog sites (including so-called roundup blog sites) delete articles...

...the Task Force demanded individuals delete postings of content that infringes...

The Task Force demanded the operators of internet bulletin boards delete postings...

...the Task Force demanded the operators of the relevant video posting sites or internet bulletin boards delete such content on the grounds of copyright infringement...
Literally half of what they've done is bitching at people and demanding that they delete their content, and the entire rest of it basically amounts to them shrugging and saying "we contacted the police."

So basically, this task force nearly solely exists to go around the internet looking for people saying things they don't like, then sending demanding bullshit to the webmaster in the hopes it gets taken down. In which case, I look forward to Null calling them a "bunch of chinky faggots" and telling them to fuck off.

I told you the "Task Force" is just a scare tactic, because in principle, management should have have the goals of the so-called "Task Force" as part of their responsibility. It makes me think this is not just to scare the rrats away, but also to suppress any leak/bad rumors about the company

In other news, the second Sony Chuuba is debuting. At least this is one looks nice

RIP, no more Nijisanji doxxing after this then?
>Special Task Force
Leaked footage of them infiltrating and raiding the Farms:

These Sony numbers are depressing... Especially since they're debuting 50(?) Expect some to be 0views
It's their fault for fucking up their previous talents' careers. No one knows why they decided to invest in vtubing again considering the bad PR they got for mishandling talents like Kaguya Luna

EDIT: Didn't notice the bit where they're planning to debut 50+ talents. Looks like Sony's going to fuck this up again. I'd be surprised if this group would last for a year

I looked it up and Sony was just the music label partner right? Not Kaguya Luna's talent management?
