By that logic, you could never prosecute murder.

The reason Chris is charged with incest, and not anything more, is that it requires no victim. The act itself is criminalized. It does require another participant, but the status of victim is irrelevant to the charge.

Given that it seems that Barb is not working with the prosecution, Barb dying would actually worsen Chris' situation, because instead of a potentially defiant Barb, the state would be allowed to write the narrative for how Barb felt without her being around to contradict it.

They search the dude's place, run forensic software on his computer and phone, they drug test him, the probation officer shows up whenever s/he damn well pleases and it is often. He aint getting away with shit if he becomes an RSO. He will also be forced into state mandated therapy, and will be expected to pay for it, as well as for all court costs incurred on his behalf. Shit's gonna blow up in his face if they put him on the registry. Oh, and he won't be allowed to eat at McDonald's because it has a play place. He won't be allowed in public parks. Or churches. Or libraries. Or.... you see where I'm going? An autistic retard is in no way capable of complying with all this shit. Hell, an intelligent and savvy person needs the luck of the Irish to get through it.

To be honest I think Chris would prefer to be in jail for life or at least one of those supervised adult homes. It’ll still be a punishment because he can’t own shit I’m jail, but if he got an adult home/private room he’d start to rebuild his consumer collection once more.

Just fyi, punishing Chris will make you feel better and it might deter some other would-be rapists of the elderly. But it isn't going to have an effect on Chris himself, because he will never understand these punitive measures as a consequence of his actions. Some people just don't, and Chris is one of them. Instead he will believe it to be an unfair circumstance out of his control, complain about it a lot, and keep up hope that things will turn around eventually, praying his little autistic version of the Serenity Prayer. Even if he did understand it, he'd interpret it as don't get caught next time, not don't rape your mum ever.

Keeping him away from the general population for as long as possible and deterring others who can be deterred by punishment is by far the main goal.

His trial is going to be a "down memory lane in a court room" episode, where people like Michael Snyder, Liquid Chris, Mary Lee Walsh to even Leonard Bearstein (the animatronic bear) are going to be cross examined and recount their experiences with Chris.

His neighbors are helping take care of his pets. As far as I'm aware, they've pretty much kept maintenance of the house - i.e, cutting the lawn, trimming down all those weeds. They've kept good care of the property. Ironically so, as Chris couldn't give a flying fuck as he was happy playing in his own little world.

EDIT: A couple of weens went out of their way to visit Branchland Court. They took some photos, too.
