I called and spoke to someone at J&DR again. Actually the same person. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they really AREN'T that busy. I get connected immediately every time and they don't seem in any hurry to get off the phone, so I really doubt there's 50 weens calling screaming JULAAAAY every day.
Anyway, the new date is February 3rd 2022. The reason it was closed was because Chris's attorney requested it. That is all she could tell me. Then like a re+tard I forgot my third question and hung up.

By the time Chris goes to the courthouse he'll have done half a year behind bars. There are actual gangbangers who have spent less time in jail than Chris. He's gonna be a hard MF when he gets out.

Unless he's being released to live with his mother again (unless his state's agency that looks after old people is asleep and drunk, this will not happen), I think that's the outcome no matter what.
No skills to make a living with if he is released without being imprisoned.
Any money he might have been using from his mom is going to be taken and used for her care. Any care home that takes her may go after Chris for any money he benefited from that 'should have been set aside for her care' (this varies based on the law, but these care homes are vicious and will find every dime they're entitled to). Any property she owns will likely be sold, again, for her care.
If he's in any sort of uncontrolled population at the holding facility he's in, he's going to say something that gets him beat up at best (if he's being held with women, they'll treat him like a rapist and castrate him, probably).
If he's in some sort of protective custody, he's going to get really fucking lonely. We're social apes. Even autists need to see other people to maintain some sanity. If humans are anything like rats, prolonged isolation from meaningful contact shortens your lifespan. Not good.
I don't feel any sympathy to Chris, but he's fucked no matter what happens.

This is an incest case. It's going to be private. This is the kind of case that no one wants to go to trial... not the defense, not the prosecution, not the judge and not the jury that would be forced to sit and listen to the details of all Chris's shenanigans. The prosecution won't let it go on this long without getting something out of the settlement. It's up to them.
