Unpopular Opinions about TV

The current season of What We Do In The Shadows is the worst.

Poopoo peepee potty fart jokes aren't fucking funny even when I'm massively stoned. It's tiresome, grating, and glaringly unfitting for Colin Robinson who has at least ten per episode. The most recent episode twist came as a relief even though I know the season finale will undo it immediately.

I'm also getting really sick and tired of people normalizing and praising gay relationships where the dominant partner is much older than the submissive partner. Considering the sub is almost always a person of color while the dom is white (or white passing) I'm shocked that the SJW crowd is too blinded by "GAY" to bother putting their "everything is racism" glasses back on. I guess as long as some dicks are going in some assholes it's super progressive and healthy beautiful representation, and not romanticizing abusive power dynamics at all.

They don't know what to do with Kristen Schaal, they handwaved the Baron into a completely different character for....some reason, the Nadja Doll episode contributed nothing, and the only properly good episode was the one at the casino.

Believe it or not, I thought Chappelle’s Show was not that funny growing up when I was younger, and I thought Chris Rock’s comedy was ten times as funnier.
He's not that funny, but it's as funny as you can get while being politically correct...

I appreciate what Larry David did for comedy when it came to Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld, but I do dislike that he made it possible for people thinking that acting like arrogant, selfish people is considered comedy.

Today, I see more people thinking it’s fashionable to act like an a-hole because it’s powerful and brave. And, usually it’s being done by women.

The best show on television is the one about plane crashes and the investigation after. At least you learn something, or if there's footage, get to see a plane exploding. So the hour doesn't feel like a complete waste.

Everything else, especially serial dramas, are just too long, too overdramatic, or now too preachy.

The only major show that I wouldn't mind seeing a reboot of would be The Walking With Trilogy or at least someone revive the trend of dinosaur documentaries like it again.
I remember seeing dinosaurs, beasts, and monsters on the discovery channel and as well as the ones staring Nigel Marvin (those were the best ones). They were awesome and I wish
to see something like it with up to date science and cgi technology and practical effects. (As bad as it may have been) I think The Lion King 2019 really did showed you could make
really good looking cgi animals and environments. It would be really cool if a prehistoric animal documentary uses the same technology to bring it's animals and environments that
you just can't replicate with on land film locations. The only concern is I just know the modern day bbc would find a way to fuck it up.

The closest thing we have to that now is the upcoming Forgotten Bloodline: Agate project. Narrated by Nigel Marvin no less!
I have not seen any updates to it since when it was first announce but it supposed to come out sometime next year.

everybody loves raymond is legit awful and I don't know how it is a popular syndicated show.

the big bang theory was actually good for about 3 seasons until it just became another Friends.

Two and a half men (sheen version) is good.

James May isn't a good or interesting presenter.
Yeah TBBT isn't THAT bad, It has some genuinely funny and some charming episodes and is okay to watch when your hungover or just want to unwind with some mindless television after a day of work, Its crap but it is well done crap. I can think of so many other sitcoms that aren't even that. At least its not How i met your mother.

I'm impressed with how quickly that show faded into obscurity

I really don't like to watch anything on TV, it is by design something faulty, it goes too long or it is cut too short.

Still my favorite TV shows were cut short as fuck and it saddens me.

One of my gripes with TV series is that too many of them go on way too long or try to continue after key cast members leave. Sometimes that works out, like with The Hogan Family. Other times it really sucks like with That 70s Show.

I think a good run is 3-5 seasons. Long enough to be satisfying but not so long that it drags, too many people leave the cast and they run out of ideas. If your show is on for ten plus seasons it better be good. I haven't watched The Simpsons in so long I can't even recall the last season I saw.
