US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

So my boomer co-worker has an interesting theory. He thinks that Obama is the one running things, due to him living part time in DC and many of his cabinet members being heavily involved in the current admin. I'm of the opinion that he just cashed out once his presidency was over and they have to really drag him to do anything, while his cabinet are the ones who really ran his presidency/the ones who are in charge. Opinions or thoughts?

Obama isn't running things per say. Biden only got the nomination because Obama won the civil war between him and the Clintons that initially saw Obama, in spite of his boast he was staying in Washington to "lead the resistance against Trump" running out of town in the middle of the night to spend the first year of Trump's term pouting on his island vacation home about how the mean old Clintons wouldn't get out of the DNC Iron Throne.

Obama probably has his underlings acting, with enough buffer to avoid plausible deniability, under a bit of a guide for what he wants done. But between Biden being Biden, his wife being a power mad cunt, Pelosi and Schumer's own agendas, and the temptation of the staff to do whatever the fuck they want because Biden's mind is not already there PLUS (((them))) giving orders? It's probably a free for all with the various factions running wild with various vagaries in play where each faction has a outline for what they want but not working together on a single path to get it done

MSNBC and CNN will ultimately be paying for those civil suits, which even if they don't go in St. Kyle's favor, will be a drop in the bucket from what he wins in the defamation lawsuits.
They will fight the lawsuits (they have a hell of a lot more money than Kyle does and can pretty much begger Kyle, especially since Kyle's banned from using internet crowdfunding sites for donations). Unless there is shit behind the scenes (like MSNBC trying to dox the jury being ordered from the very top level of the network on orders from the DNC) that they will settle purely to keep from seeing the light of day.

Similarly, Biden will have his army of lawyers keep the case out of court if he sues combined with the bonus hypocritical "fuck you" ism of Biden arguing that as President, he is above the law and can't be sued, at least while he's in office.

And even if they DO settle, they'll NEVER EVER EVER EVER admit guilt and basically lock a BDSM muzzle onto Kyle's face to make sure he never is able to say HOW MUCH they paid him, while bragging to the public that the payoff was "super small" to justify them having to pay a couple of million extra to both make Kyle accept the NDA muzzle mask and their refusing to admit any guilt or wrongdoing like they did with Sandmann

Yeah, he's such a 'legal expert' that he seems to have forgotten that a sitting president has legal immunity. So good luck with that one. That aside, he had best wait until the inevitable civil suits against him are over before trying to go after anybody
You're citing Nixon v. Fitzgerald, 457 US 731 (1982); but see Clinton v. Jones, 520 US 681 (1997): "Petitioner's principal submission-that "in all but the most exceptional cases,'' Brief for Petitioner i, the Constitution affords the President temporary immunity from civil damages litigation arising out of events that occurred before he took office-cannot be sustained on the basis of precedent."

Giving up on Florida completely. And they couldn't get North Carolina last time with mail-in votes, there's no way it will be as positive for them a second time.
Don't forget they tried the same shit with stopping the vote for a week trying to find the ballots to flip NC and still couldn't do it.

I think NC is off the table, but feel free to spend money on it.

They have helpfully given us a list of states they consider swing states.

Something really irked me about this. At first it makes sense as these states are the ones with the most narrow margins from 2020 and it presumes they will be playing defense (which makes sense given polling) with only NC as offense. Then it hit me, midterms should have little to no effect on the 2024 presidential bid (in theory). Midterms historically have not been indicative of presidential races; 2010 was a red wave and 2012 was a blue landslide, 2002 was a historic incumbent gain and 2004 was a lackluster incumbent reelection.

So what do they mean by "to prepare the ground for Bidens campaign trail"? I think they are sacking the midterms and will go all-in on the gubernatorial/SOS/AG races as that what really won 2020 for the Dems. That and fraud, facilitated by winning the previous races.

Edit: some of the polling work coming from Baris has indicated that if the presidential election was held tomorrow that minnesota and virginia would be in play. WI, GA, AZ would be well out of the margin of error.

Ah, delightful. Anyone know any companies in those states that specialize in running off large-scale printing jobs fast? I'm looking for some short-term investments with chance of a nice fat dividend (in say, 1-3 years) due to a massive influx of business.
