Misty's new roomie is that woman from her junkie church who was having trouble with her abusive husband/boyfriend/whatever. As for her opinion on what Misty's house is like, junkies will live in a rotting wooden shed in someone's back yard and be totally fine with it, you can't trust their opinions on safe housing structures.
Misty has done shit like this before too, let someone who is chronically down on their luck move into her home, then cried when they stole from her and blamed it on Heather. It won't be long before this woman relapses or goes back to her ex, or steals from Misty and becomes the subject of her rage posting for a bit. People like her always make the worst decisions when it comes to personal relationships.

I remember one woman in particular Musty moved in with her. The woman had Musty believing she was pregnant with quintuplets and that she was the victim of domestic abuse.

She told my sister she was waiting for her uncle who was a lawyer (Ken Nunn! Red flags right there should have been sent right up, but Musty never was the one to pick up on these social cues of an insepid liar) to settle her dispute.

She told my sister that she was supposed to get "millions of dollars" out of the lawsuit (another HUGE red flag of what a liar this woman turned out to be) and told my sister she would help with the repairs on the house once she got her settlement.

She even told my sister she could pay back taxes on the house my grandmother and aunt had bought together. Musty then let the woman's "parents" move into the garage, claiming it to be an apartment adequate for the two of them.

Well, one day while she was at work, the woman and her "parents" stole from Musty an air conditioner, the futon that was in the garage, a tv, and some other items. Surprise, surprise...not.

If that wasn't enough, a couple months later she let another girl who is known all too well here in the Special Olympic community in Logansport to be a lying hoe, move in with her.

The woman keeps changing her last names like their dirty laundry to stay under the radar and at the time she was going by Margie Conover.

I tried to warn Misty about what Margie was like, that she was known to lie about being pregnant when she really isn't...that she kept posting pictures of babies (ultrasounds and all!) that were never really hers. Again, Misty never heeded those warnings.

Margie ended up sleeping with a guy in Aurora's bed WHILE AURORA WAS WATCHING (Misty was at work) and once again, they stole things from Misty when they left.

Now I've been hearing that Margie is somewhere in Vegas or Los Angeles, not sure and she's openly and proudly saying she's prostituting herself to make money.

Misty has always been that gullible to have people like Margie and that other woman (Jamie VanDiver I think her name was) move in with her, she's done it time and time again...look at LaMonte for Christ's sake...and she MARRIED HIM!!

She almost made that mistake AGAIN with two other men, one of which was Richard's biological father, Daniel Shriver. The other was named Richard whom she met at the food bank. That man was the one who beat Richard and left him in a bank's parking lot when Richard was throwing a tantrum.

After she takes them in, they're good for a couple months. Then when they see an opening to up and leave, they take it, taking as many of her possessions as they can with her.

It's only a matter of time that the cycle starts all over again with this new "roommate". Misty never learns!

I know you love your niece, and feel protective of her; that speaks well to your kind heart and good intentions. If you'd had more of a chance to be an aunt to your nephew and nieces, I'm sure you'd be a great one.

And just a heads up - it's totally normal for kids to talk to themselves. Sometimes adults do it, too. That's not a sign of schizophrenia, it's just a way to process information and thoughts.

Okay, getting off my high horse now. I'm sorry, just very protective of my nieces and nephew, especially Tricia. I have always been closest to her than the other two. Regrettably Aurora was always hard for me to get to know and I never really had much time with Richard. Doesn't make me love them any less though!

Tricia was a 17-year-old trying to deal with Misty. She got the hell out of dodge as soon as she could and that's amazing and speaks to a latent intelligence and strength of character that is genuinely impressive. She probably was young and slow on milestones as a kid. Who the hell wouldn't be. She was raising Misty's two other kids when the other kids were getting speech therapy and reading preteen novels.

No, she doesn't have hearing loss. She's like how I was when I was younger. I was very "Dutch" like her but Mom and Dad had the right idea to get me into speech therapy.

I was in speech therapy from pre-kindergarden to sixth grade and I still sometimes catch myself stumbling on some words to this day when I get overactive or upset about something and start to talk rather fast.

They did have several hearing tests run on me during preschool but I don't think it was ever say I had hearing loss. It does tend to run in our family, skipping some generations at a time.

I found out that my Aunt Nelly had a speech impediment as did her daughter Ruth Ann when they were younger, but once again, they went through speech therapy as well.

I've never really been sure why Tricia didn't go to speech therapy...just think her parents didn't really give a rat's arse about it.

Meanwhile, was on YouTube when I dug this video up from CringeArchive (He has Thomas the Train Engine in his profile picture) stating what he (and evidently MANY others) think about what all Misty's saying on YouTube!

That's a fair point. She also struggled with some basic grammar usage, but she could just as easily have a hearing issue of some kind. Or it could just be a regular old speech impediment.

Misty and Lamonte are the kinds of parents not to notice any sort of issue, and bridle at the idea that their kids needed help (unless that help was a monthly gibs me dats check). Speech therapy would have been free at school, but that's another mandatory reporter who would be on their asses.

It could also be boring ol' autism-related auditory processing issues affecting her speech and grammar. At this point it doesn't really matter that much - it could have been fixed with early intervention but... Misty.

She did, after she was awarded SSDI. She got a nice fat back check for the period of time between when she was awarded Social Security, and when Social Security determined that her disability actually began. Like many who are suddenly given thousands of dollars in one swell foop after a lifetime of a marginal existence, she acted like she was nigger-rich and immediately began spending it on multiple beater fourth-hand cars and other foolish purchases. I'm fully willing to believe that she wasted thousands and thousands of dollars getting that porch built, if not necessarily 10K.

Personal rant but relevant...
A cousin of mine is a professional electrian and most of his jobs are fixing the dangerous shit that people like Musty end up with using jackleg workers for repairs.
Her crappy lean to is the least of her worries about that home. Unlicensed electrical work can make an insurance company nervous too.
