Yes, from what I can tell, Pearce based a lot of his writings off of what he had heard about other conflicts at the time. I'm not American, and in the most respectful way possible, I'm going to go Sectarian as fuck.
In 1969, the British Army intervened because the local Northern Irish government was dominated by a radical sect of extremely anti-Catholic British-descended "Orangemen" - Black is the new Orange - and one major problem was that when the Irish tried to secede from the UK, these guys formed a strong system to prevent that.
Later on, as the OIRA started shooting soldiers, the British Army formed alongside the ruling Loyalist/Orangemen side rather than the original purpose of protecting Irish Catholics from violence.
That's just the background, focus on the Loyalist Paramilitaries - whereas the largest republican paramilitary, the Provisional IRA, was considered a de-facto state military by the Republicans in general - their men joined their army. Loyalists alreadyhad an army - the British Army - thus Loyalist Paramilitaries were entirely formed from the scum who couldn't get into the British Army. This lead to a stark contrast - most people killed by the PIRA were police and military. The UVF and UDA, however, killed exclusively civilians as reprisals, and the British Army tolerated UVF members (Red Hand Commando/Glennane Gang, group of Orangemen who joined the Army and killed 100+ random Irish Catholics, including rape and torture, as revenge for the IRA beating them on the ground) within their ranks. This fact alone lead to the strange situation where the British Army had a higher civilian death ratio than the fucking IRA, despite the IRA bombing the fuck out of everything they could see!
If your state is pulling this sort of shit, you cannot let it stand. You need to arm yourselves, now, with everything - not just rifles, but whatever you can scrape together to keep out of the government's pockets. Because guess what - they will confiscate what they can, and somehow, your "official" guns will end up in the hands of the Bloods.

I have never been this fucking mad in my life. Like actually fuming. If you think children and elderly trying to enjoy their weekend deserve to be murdered en masse because a completely unrelated case didn't go the way you wanted it to, you need fucking help. Don't forget the memory-holed Indiana FedEx shooter. Before he went postal (no pun intended) he got redflagged by his own mother for erratic behavior and expressing violent/suicidal intent and had the FBI interview him to assess his threat risk. He was Randy Stair-tier fucking insane, but the FBI decided to give him his 2A rights back and not investigate further because they deemed that he was not a "racially motivated violent extremist (RMVE)." That was the sole objective of their "risk assessment": is he a White nationalist? No? Then not our problem.
I abhor red flag laws, but if anyone is going to be the subject of one, it should be people like him: genuinely insane people with an expressed intent to commit violence. People like him are the ones gullible voters are told they will be protected from by red flag laws. The fact that he was ignored by the feds simply for not having the wrong political beliefs says everything you need to know about who the system really fears and why these laws are really put into place.

I don't believe so. Not on any of the traditional outlets. Whether the assailant stabbed someone or this is rumor can be indicative of just about anything.
Maybe he was high, fleeing the cops, and things got out of control.
Maybe the suspect posted bond on his domestic violence (I believe) charge, decided that he was going to stab his baby mama, and then get revenge on some honkies because of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, garnering eternal fame and street cred.
Speculate away.
Edit: I should say that there is chatter from the police scanner about a stabbing but not "official" confirmation. Unless I'm wrong. And that wouldn't be the first time I was wrong on the Internet.
