But there is no conspiracy to paint trans people as anything, there is no factory producing sock puppets to "infiltrate" the community. German has this issue as well and it continues to amuse me that the plural form „Sie“ in capital letters is our way of formal address for individuals and SO widely used, that no one will manage to re-educate us. She also suggested that the "highly toxic" cotton ceiling issue was "analogous to issues like sexual racism". 'Cotton ceiling' basically refers to the difficulty trans people have to face when seeking lesbian and gay relationships. Acknowledging that "consent is paramount and we all want who we want" in sexual relationships, she said that "structural oppression can influence who we want".

This is the dumbest part of this discussion.

The article is about how lesbians are being told not wanting to suck dick is transphobic and they need to unlearn their bigoted genital preferences. The lesbians are saying this feels like they're being pressured to suck dick. The response throughout has been "Oh my God just because one trans woman raped one person some time doesn't mean that all trans women are rapists" - which is literally not what the BBC is saying - and then the exact same response is made. It is transphobic for lesbians not to suck dick, and they need to think about "unlearning" it.

Anyway Nancy Kelley appears to have overplayed her hand:

But speaking to Radio 4’s Women’s Hour last week, Kelley was open about her group’s intentions. ‘I want Stonewall to have more influence on the editorial policy of the BBC,’ she said.

There's also an unsourced claim from an anonymous former Boris aide that Stonewall's been influencing policy by getting advisors to basically lie to him (like they've been found doing in their Diversity Champions scheme). This might explain why the Gender Recognition Act 2004 nearly got switched up to self-id. The only reason it didn't is apparently because Dr. Michael Brady, the National Advisor for LGBT Health, told them not to. He seems to not like Stonewall that much, pointing out the NHS Rainbow Badge Scheme was invented within the NHS as part of them tackling worse health outcomes for LGBT patients, and had nothing to do with Stonewall and they don't get to claim credit.

That poor woman. It sounds like her husband is seriously manipulating and taking advantage of her, and she doesn't know which way is up anymore. She knows they can't afford his oh-so precious surgery, but he's filling her head with all kinds of lies about how he'll kill himself if he doesn't get it and she's an evil transphobic bigot if she spends even one penny of her hard-earned paycheck on herself. ngl this sounds like financial abuse - he's depriving her of absolutely everything that makes life worth living and won't allow her to get herself into a better position (say, by paying off her debts) so that she never has enough time or money to leave him. Banning her from spending on her hobbies also keeps her isolated, because people with hobbies tend to talk to others who have the same hobby, go to meetups, etc. Classic abusive behavior and no surprise from a man who goes trans honestly.

This one just breaks my heart. That poor woman. The language suggests that she's very religious, but this man has literally driven her to the point of wanting to kill herself - a mortal sin - due to his selfish and manipulative choices. She's 100% in the right here and he's just trying to manipulate her into believing she's wrong and should just keep acting the same as always like nothing's changed out of guilt and pity. His words are all completely manipulative, emotionally abusive bullshit putting the blame on her for not treating him like the husband she loves when he's the one who decided he didn't want to be that person anymore. So... basically, to the great surprise of no one, another trans-identified male showing serious signs of being (emotionally) abusive.

The worst part of this one is if she's deeply religious, she may not feel like she's able to divorce him.
