If you end up doing it probably dont host them on eth, use something with lower gas fees instead. I like solana, a lot of big nft projects use it and its decently fast/cheap.
Also, since the upfront cost/time investment to set it up is reasonably low, you could look at it in this way: instead of being a product you buy, they could be a free gift for people who donate crypto (essentially the same thing, but the merit on which success is measured is different)

I think if you care about providing a worthwhile product for people's money, Null, you shouldn't go with the cookiecutter method every other NFT provider uses, instead I think you should do a smaller number run, with higher quality NFT's. Tie them to site lore and history, this makes them each much more noteworthy than a simple branded deal. The 2 trannies showing up to Nulls House NFT or The Christchurch Shooting NFT is way more interesting than "I've got the blue kiwi with tendie crumbs on it's beak." It also provides a greater outlet for any kind of artistry and could let you command a higher price.
but why would I do that when everyone seems to prefer the avatar generator approach. I don't understand it as it is so why would I put a spin on it.

Why put a spin on it? Because it sets you apart from the crowd. Now I could opine about being set apart from the crowd is so on-brand for the farms as to be enforced by every corporation that even notices you, but it's good business to provide something others don't. It also gives each NFT a greater level of intrigue and notoriety from one another that appeals to nostalgia, or unique experiences on the forum.

Why not sell NFT's of famous KF threads like those retards did with twitch clips?

I'm really not a NFT guy, I'm not retarded enough to buy jpgs but I think with a community like this selling highlights as NFT's or famous bits of the forum as NFT's would be a better thing to do personally.

If the goal is to get people from outside of the community interested in this then I guess this approach would not work but it's merely an idea. If niggas can sell tweets then niggas can sell the CWC thread exposing his legal troubles if you see what I mean.

There's not really anything stopping you from doing both the avatar NFT thing and the Thread NFTs that other users are requesting. Have the Thread NFTs be in a smaller, more limited, more expensive group perhaps.
What I'd like to do is set up bunches. i.e. If I rush this out in December then I would do $KIW2021 that's like 100x$100 just to see if it works, then we can look at other bundles.

As long as there's some way to do it that doesn't involve spending several hundred dollars on gas fees I'm down. I was interested in the silver run until it came time to figure out a shipping solution and I couldn't think up a way to anonymize the order in a way that satisfied my paranoid ass. This is a nice way to get around that.
