I had an operation last year, not corona related where I was on Fentanyl, Morphine and Ketamine as pain relievers. Morphine is great, you feel it working down your nerves and helps block the pain. Fentanyl felt weird, like eating stale peta bread and talking in a foreign language. Made everything feel off. Ketamine was like being irradiated in a video game, loss of color, hearing and general senses.

Nothing synthetic has ever beat morphine for pain, it also makes you feel good, which is really addictive. My uncle who was a doctor used it, he said it was fine after surgery but tapered people off it after three or four days. He told me opiates aren't well understood by the average person and even doctors; you have to monitor people and use the lowest possible dose for the shortest amount of time to avoid dependence. It wasn't to be avoided but it wasn't to be encouraged either, in his opinion.
