This has me think about how ResetERA hated Barrett from the Final fantasy 7 remakebl because he wasn't an angry black man stereotype. They probably also hated him because he was a good father.

I truly believe in my heart of hearts that a lot of wokies don't actually like black people.
Emit til was murdered for cat calling a white woman in the 1950s. He may have deserved a slap upside the head and an apology. Instead he got lynched Because telephone of an angry mob said he raped the woman.
If you want to go down a really wild tunnel, look up the formation of the Anti-Defamation league, and the story between Leo Frank and Jim Conley.

They think they like black people, but only because they have a very arms-length distance from them; these are mostly white suburbanites who mostly experience blackness through media and internet discourse. To them, these fascinating black creatures are under threat by an unrelenting power they do not understand, therefore it is up to these saviors to help the darling little blacks. They look at blacks the way we used to look at "starving African children" in those commercials from the 90s: this distant "other" that needs our help

I bet they secretly film black people doing mundane things and dub narration over it like a nature doc.

Honestly, that's the only explanation for this photoshoot I saw yesterday:

Thanks to Andy Ngo, from whom I stole these. Always funny to watch larpers realize in real time their actions have consequences.

Barret is a fantastic and well rounded character who just so happens to be black (as it should be). He's justifiably angry at Shinra for what they did to his home town and friends, he's a great father to Marlene (who might not be his kid biologically but is her daddy in every single way that matters), and he's just trying to do his best while suffering from PTSD like all of the other characters in the FF7 group.

I find it hilarious that not only did they race wash Jet, they also changed his backstory -- and made him into a fucking stereotype. Talk about wishing on a monkey's paw.

To give the Netflix show even the slightest credit, which is still probably more than it deserves, Jet's actor does have the voice down. None of the characters may be quite like they were, but at least Jet sounds like he should.

The thing that really made me laugh about that is that Jet being turned black didn't bother me much at all, I guess because I watched the dub and he was voiced by a black guy. And honestly, he would have still been a great character if they had turned him black but kept his story the same, I have no idea why they felt the need to completely change his motivations and history like that.

I think it's probably some ACAB bullshit about how Jet would be an unforgivable bastard for being a policeman at any point. Doesn't matter that he was an honest cop who resigned in response to extreme corruption in the force, the fact that he believed in enforcing the law and didn't pull a Dorner means he's as bad as the mobster moonlighting as a cop.

Jet is not depicted as a deadbeat dad in the Netflix series, that's retarded. He was framed and spent five years in prison, lost custody of his daughter, and his ex-wife got together with someone else. But he very much wants to make his daughter happy and goes to great lengths to still be part of her life in some way, that's his main motivation up to the very end.

Reality doesn't matter to the Twitter people though, they just want some target for their daily serving of performative outrage.

Pretty sure "Helen Carter" is another Titania McGrath. Her posts are hilarious trolling
A rebuttal to Helen Carter:
"My husband is a cop ... he will put you in jail if you say anything to me"
edit: she has a lowtax video

Header: "A bunch of bullshit that will be used as weapons against you, and shields for me, whenever I decide to."

I swear to god, if I find a single tweet from this faggot about the Texas Church Shooting, and the domestically violence history of that retard.
