On one hand, as an American, this fucking irritates me because Thanksgiving is more than just "consoomerism", it's about spending time with your loved ones and being thankful for the good things you have in your life.
On the other hand, this is in no way surprising for 2 reasons:
- Thanksgiving probably does trigger the fuck out of the left because something something white devil something something oppressed native americans.
- They've been chipping at the typical family household little by little (normalizing divorce and same-sex parents were a big one) so this is just another stone for them to remove at an opportunistic time.

NYC crime blotters back then were reporting on cat ladies and updating people on what the recently deceased were doing, thats how desperate they were for stuff to talk about. So to go from reporting on the crime of toplessness to barely being able to cover double homicides in 7 fucking years should be a shock to the system.
Philly is like Chris-chan, he's doing pretty bad but things were always sucking, NYC is like Ethan Ralph, 2018 was overall a pretty great year and now its just sad and next year is adding up to making this year become a fond memory of when things were still good.

That again leads to the problem of 2021, if they couldn't keep the lid on when covid-related deaths (official and unoffical) were much smaller and before the economy and government services went to shit, imagine how bad shits going to be going when we're breaking records on murders, drug overdoses, heart attacks, and covid deaths.
We also haven't hit the covid baby bust yet either, but all signs point to it dropping under 3.6 million, how much is yet to be determined but its still a 40 year low, in fact only 8 years has the US had less than 3.5 million births (since WW2) and those years are basically regarded as some of the worst in US history (1970s) and the worst years to have been born in general, and let me remind you that a 3% drop in births during the lockdown year would be absurdly optimistic, a 14% drop in births would mean 2021 would have the fewest births in modern US history.
That also forces the question of what does that possibly mean for multiple industries that rely on constant growth, more consumers buying their crap more people attending their services, etc. a lot harder to get more people attending your college when you and every other college is forced to compete for the same handful of students.
TL;DR Between fewest births and most homicides since ww2, every alarm bell should be going off right now in terms of how fucked the US is, when kids study the fall of the US there will be snot nosed brats going "if i was alive back then i would have left the country when i saw those numbers, stupid americans"

The reason I know Biden being healthy is full of crap!! Is because I know people who are or were in their 80s who look and sounded more healthy than Biden. My one great grandmother live by herself until 92. She was alot more sharper than Biden and healthy as well. She would still play golf up until her late 80s and very active as well. She didn't start going downhill until her final year at age 93.

There's nowhere to run. If America falls, or gets so involved in internal upheavals that they stop being the preeminent power in the world, everyone will suffer. All of those ethnic hatreds that the fear of American action keeps to a low boil? Pogroms everywhere. Countries with unsatisfied territorial ambitions? The armies will march, the planes will fly, the missiles will launch, hopefully non-nuclear. Countries that rely on US foreign aid, either cash or loans or even food aid? They're fucked, economic and societal collapse is always just around the corner for a lot of very fucked up countries that we support. Countries that import food from America? Say goodbye to that, with all the results that you would expect. World trade without the US Navy guaranteeing free sea access? It will be reduced to a fraction of what it is now. Countries that have massive social spending to keep their population satisfied because Big Daddy US Gov takes care of protecting them, instead of spending that welfare state money on their own militaries? Systems will crash and social services will be greatly curtailed in favor of rapid remilitarization.
I could go on for hours about this, but TLDR: If America stops projecting economic and military force because they are involved in a long crisis, it will negatively affect every country on earth. Either through primary effects or through secondary or tertiary follow-on effects. An American collapse would lead to the collapse of many other countries, especially those that are only marginally real countries and are always on the verge of collapse at the best of times.
