I was trying to figure out why Kim referred to this as her “last bday” and it hit me - she wants to make it clear to her audience that not only is today not her birthday, but that her eldest daughter acknowledged her birthday a month (or whatever) L A T E.

If they dont have access to their litterbox, cats tend to use the bathroom in more private areas. They will also do it on anything thay mimics litter/dirt, like fabric, so they can bury it. It's atypical for a cat to just shit in the middle of the open floor, especially in a high traffic area (unless they had an emergency).

Shitting in random open places is more of a dog thing.
