You can tell that they're developmentally stunted by the fact that their entire identity revolves around offending the sensibilities of others. They have very few genuine convictions; their purported ideology is merely a guise for provoking a negative reaction from people, as well as projecting what is clearly an embittered inferiority complex onto their intended (though tellingly, often indiscriminate) targets. It is transparently both a cry for attention, and a coping mechanism for insecurity.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd suppose that most of these people were probably victims of the helicopter parenting styles commonly embraced by the parents of Generation Z.
