Yeah. I think the farms and /vt/ can kinda give people the impression that VShojo and Hololive are at war or something, when in general VShojo talents tend to like Hololive and the fanbases have a ton of overlap. Most VShojo fans are Hololive fans, and I'd imagine if you polled English-speaking Hololive fans about who they watch outside of Hololive (if any), VShojo would probably be the top pick. People here just don't like VShojo and like to imagine some war between them and Hololive lol.

In any case, it's kind of a silly discussion, since it is true that being in Hololive does mean that you'll get tens to hundreds of thousands of subs from people who don't know a single thing about you and may not even watch you that much but will click the subscribe button anyways, and it is also true that Hololive is not easy go get into.

you gotta make up your mind, either the networking effect doesn't for holostars or they get automatically fuck you money just from being part of hololive (less mentioned, but still).

most actual fans probably now holostars by now, not to mention even holoEN did collab with them in form of bae which is the latest EN gen, not some jp gen 0 which work differently. wouldn't be surprised if it increases slowly from now on. you gotta get the simps used to their oshi being around penis-havers, then at a certain point they can integrate them into the main branch with much less blowback.

imho that's a zoomer take. there's more to a male streamer than MLGPRO420 or apex. collabs alone will carry them far, just look at any demon/fubuking collab. after that people will stay for the same reason they stay with the main branch, they enjoy the content. the main problem is getting to know them and getting used to said content first, which is why collabs are so important. I'd argue hololive's in-focus and coherence is a large aspect of their success - you're not starting to watch someone you never heard of and takes time way from your oshi. now someone who makes your oshi laugh and flustered otoh... (unless you're fan of NTR or get burning jealousy, but then you'd need take a step back for self-reflection anyway).

or look at it this way, I noticed aruran did some /fit/ stream at some point. that's great content especially when you consider who is the main demograpic of vtubers. doesn't mean they should go full jordan peterson, but might as well make that pseudosocial relationship work for males in form of a big brother (not the 1984 kind) telling them to clean their room. if they can figure out how there's probably a large untapped market of dudes who want to self-improve and/or maybe just need some guidance, but without the groomer or antifa/alt-right drift. seiso works for dudes too.

So I guess in a way it's a move in the direction of shifting public opinion about superchat/streaming. Still, overall a unique and interesting stream, if not particularly note-worthy.

I'm not sure what you think I have to "make up my mind" about. Hololive automatically gives you a shit ton of subs these days (ex: Omega got 100k as a corpo vtweeter). Holostars doesn't, though that's relatively speaking, as one is still better off being with them than being a male indie 99% of the time. Both can be true because Holostars is not treated by Cover as a part of Hololive.

A single collab doesn't change things, for the same reason why if a Hololive member collabs once with an indie or other agency vtuber, that other vtuber doesn't automatically get all the Hololive fans to join their fanbase. What matters is being a part of the group narrative and interactions. Hololive fans generally view the rich interactions and friendships between the Hololive members as being one of the biggest appeals of Hololive as a whole. Those things lead to memorable memes, stories, moments, etc. Think of all the Minecraft interactions, to name a recent example. Think of the Hololive Sports Festival. There were no Holostars members, nor does anyone question their absence, because they aren't Hololive.

Holostars has always been outside of that fundamental dynamic, and thus does not benefit nearly as much from the Hololive "boost" as anyone who is joining that dynamic does. When people get into Hololive via clips of these moments, they don't get into Holostars. Just because the fans know they exist doesn't change that. Hololive is maintained as an all-female space, and Holostars are outsiders who every now and then get to interact with it, in the same way other agencies/indies occasionally do.

In terms of integration between Hololive and Holostars, it'll probably never happen. Cover has no real reason to change what they are doing and many of their top earners are members whose fans do not want to see them with guys.

Ina just had a super scuffed stream. First her Internet started fucking up causing constant buffering and then her mic started picking up interference (but only when she talked). Was also watching her recent drawing stream and she talked a bit about her hikiomori ways -- specifically how she joined Hololive hoping it'd help her get more comfortable talking with people. She feels it's helped but it's still really draining to interact with people and she has trouble asking for collabs due to it.

After some much needed rest I wanted to put out a statement on what occurred over the past few days. I am still new to this whole content creation world and I oftentimes forget that being open about feelings can bring about situations that can become very volatile. I for one would like to apologize for expressing myself publicly. It was never my intention to rile anyone up from my community. I am sorry if I alarmed any of you and placed you in an uncomfortable position to feel the need to have to speak up on my behalf. I would like to further reflect upon this moment and take it as an opportunity on how to better resolve conflict privately. There was a lot of confusion and misunderstanding coming from multiple directions. I do not condone bullying or targeted harassment and I would like to extend an apology to nux I have no ill will towards him and I hope we can all move forward from all this. I wish nothing but peace and safety for this community.

I dont think vshojo and hololive are at war. I just think Vshojo are a bunch of shitbags who'd happily ruin everything everywhere for everyone forever for a drop of clout. Actually I only thought Nyanners, Veibae and Zen were that bad but recent event have made it clear the other will gladly go along with their bullshit.
I dont care if a lot of people like them or if hololive members like them. People and hololive members liked Artia. They're nice but naive and wont do anything until it's too late.
Kiara liking Vshojo is the same reason she ends up getting humped by a creep in a wrestling ring
