Just wanted to throw in my two cents with Phil's mom possibly living there. Phil famously didn't let his parents stay with him when they visited him on vacation. Not only that, but during their trip, he made them do all his housework and chores. And then he insisted it was a "gift" for them because they got to drive his BMW while they were picking things up to complete said chores.
That's actually part of why I'm thinking it's true, the fact that Phil doesn't truly WANT either of them there, because it would explain why he won't even bitch about our speculation of it. He's not touching the subject with a ten foot pole, exactly what I expect when we've landed it right on the nose. His mom is there, he's not happy about it, and that's why he doesn't want it known. He doesn't even want to acknowledge knowing that we're talking about it, even though he definitely does.
There's no way Phil would pass up an opportunity to have a laugh at our expense by describing to his chat our theories and ACKing it up like a stoned hyena. Unless he can't because we're on to him.
There's certainly a world where she would move in with Phil, but I don't think we're in that world. Especially if we're going with the logic that she's been there since he started doing calling Khet mom. If Phil's dad died or they lost the house, both of which would be reported by detractors.
Oh we certainly do live in that world, and I think I know the reason in this case: Linda misses her boy. We know it's plausible from his stories, which are embarrassing and therefore plenty accurate. She has no idea that her son is a pigroach, as well as completely fails to see the real reason he moved so fucking far away. I can see Dave washing his hands of him, he's the one who didn't want to give Phil any more money. They're not going to divorce, they come from an era where you didn't do that, but I'll bet they're as good as.
I think a death would make Phil take at least some time off to fly down for the funeral, not to mention he'd absolutely use it for sympathy points. He's already shown he's not above using his parents to get pity bucks.
Except he was lying, wasn't he? That's the important part, that it was fake. It almost always is. When his parents inevitably DO croak, we won't hear a thing about it from Phil. We're not supposed to know shit.
Phil's ability to lie/hide stuff is also about on par with OIC's ability to dox. We knew about Leanna leaving him, him flying Khet down with begathon money, getting Jasper etc. In order for the mom theory to work, it implies Phil has been able to keep it secret for months (maybe over a year now?) and not have her make any sort of stream appearance.
How long did Phil have outstanding debt on a dozen credit cards? How long was whaling out in Champions before being discovered?
He can't help accidentally snitching on himself, true, but he has still hidden things for longer than you would expect from someone so stupid.
True, it didn't happen with Leanna, but I think that's because, even if he was an awful boyfriend and treated her like a maid, there was at least some part of Phil interested in dating Leanna. He brought Khet in to replace Leanna, but I don't think he was interested in recapturing that relationship side of things and instead really wanted a caretaker. Because he has no creativity, he also does all the stuff he used to do with his mom with Khet. Leanna, from what we know, tried to push for more traditional relationship stuff and didn't just LARP as his mom while going shopping. He started taking days off because Leanna insisted they go on dates at least once a week and she'd have friends over and stuff, presumably with the hope of Phil interacting with them and behaving like a normal person.
This is a valid point, however much I don't consider it counter to the "His mom is at the Wakhando" theory. Both can still be accurate, because while Phil obviously treats his relationship with Katherine very differently (jury is out on exactly WHY, but the difference is clear), that doesn't necessarily mean that his slip-ups are from that. I'm thinking they're the result of his brain going from the way it was wired around his soulmaid to now his actual mother. A slow slide towards the day where he completely spills the beans, I'm thinking.
